Travel from the famous capital Delhi to the colourful city of Jaipur adding a visit to the beautiful Taj Mahal - one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Our expert guides will ensure that you return home with a true sense of this enchanting country. Whether you choose to stay in the 4 or 5 star hotels the itinerary is the same - pure magic. ITINERARY - DAY 1 Depart London Heathrow on scheduled British Airways flight to Delhi arriving late evening (some flights arrive early day 2). Transfer to The Connaught Hotel (or similar) in Delhi for a three-night stay. DAY 2 Day at leisure. (B) DAY 3 Depart for a morning guided tour of the Old City and visit to to Raj Ghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, drive past Red Fort - the magical monument in red sandstone, and proceed through the bustling streets to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in Asia. This afternoons tour of New Delhi includes a visit to the Qutab Minar - the tallest stone tower in India and drive past Humayuns tomb, the imposing India Gate, Parliament building and the Rashtrapathi Bhawan (Presidents residence). (B) DAY 4 Depart for Agra and the Howard Park Plaza Hotel for a one-night stay. Afternoon included excursion to the impressive redstone battlement palace of Agra Fort. Later enjoy an exciting rickshaw ride to the magnificent Taj Mahal - an everlasting monument to love. DAY 5 Early departure to Akbars abandoned capital, Fatehpur Sikri for a brief visit before arriving at Jaipur and The Holiday Inn for a twonight stay. Free time to relax. (B) DAY 6 A full days guided tour includes a photo stop at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five-storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires. Continue to the fabulous Amber Fort, situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur city including the Charbagh garden with its perfectly proportioned landscaping, all surrounded by fortified battlements. On return to Jaipur visit the City Palace, the former royal residence built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles, and the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar Observatory, a stone astrological and astronomical Observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century. (B) DAY 7 Transfer to Delhi with free time before arriving late evening at Delhi Airport for return flight home. DAY 8 Early morning departure from Delhi Airport to London Heathrow.
