Ranweli Holiday Village
ITINERARY - DAY 1 Depart London Heathrow for your overnight flight on Sri Lankan Airlines to Sri Lanka. DAY 2 Arrive Sri Lanka and transfer to Ranweli Holiday Village for a seven-night stay on half board basis. (D) DAYS 3-8 Relax and enjoy the facilities and unique natural surroundings of Ranweli Holiday Village. During your stay, included in the price, is a visit to the home of local artist, a guided bird watching tour. (B,D) DAY 9 Travel by coach to the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela. Continue to Sigiriya for the Habarana Lodge (or similar) and late evening visit to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. (B,D) DAY 10 Travel to Kandy, visiting a spice garden and batik factory en route. Afternoon visit to the Temple of the Tooth and Sri Lankan cultural show. Stay at Citadel Hotel, Kandy for two nights. (B,D) DAY 11 Morning visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kandy. Continue to Giragama Tea Plantation and factory. (B,D) DAY 12 Transfer to Colombo Airport for your return flight to London Heathrow arriving later the same evening. (B) Alternatively extend your stay further at Ranweli from £179 per person per week.
SIGIRIYA
Towering high above the lush green tropical landscape is the rock fortress of Sigiriya, one of Sri Lankas natural wonders. Sigiriya was created by Kasyapa, a king with an artists soul who built the fortress as a palace for himself modelled on the mythical abode of Kuvera God of Wealth . In a sheltered pocket on the western face are the famous frescoes dating back hundreds of years. The three acres summit of the rock encloses gardens, cisterns and attractive ponds.
