DAY 2 JOHANNESBURG · PRETORIA Early morning arrival where our brief orientation of the `City of Gold' reveals a sprawling blend of first and third world cultures. Later we escape the hustle and bustle and drive to the Irene Country Lodge, located in the serenity of the countryside. The atmosphere of your accommodation will allow you to relax and leave you invigorated for your holiday adventure. DAY 4 CAPE TOWN · STELLENBOSCH DAY 3 PRETORIA · BLUE TRAIN · CAPE TOWN An experience is about to unfold as the Blue Train waits at Pretoria station. Here we will receive a warm welcome as we are ushered into the departure lounge to sip a complimentary glass of champagne whilst being checked in, after which you will be free to stroll onto the platform, alight the train and settle into the luxury of your compartment. This is the commencement of the ultimate Having traversed the length of the country in style we arrive in one of the most scenically aesthetic cities in the world, Cape Town. On arrival we will be transferred to the town of Stellenbosch. The town possesses a rich tapestry of architectural styles, most of which have been meticulously restored to their former glory. Our hotel for the next two evenings is the Protea Stellenbosch situated on the outskirts of town. Dinner is included this evening. DAY 5 STELLENBOSCH From as early as the 17th century, South Africa has produced and perfected, perhaps, some of the finest wines in the world. The winter rainfall and Mediterranean-like climate of the Cape, together with the rich, fertile top and sub-soils, ensure the growth of vigorous and healthy vines. Today, we have a chance to sample some of their finest and perhaps buy South Africa's crisp white or full-bodied red wine. Table Mountain Stellenbosch DAY 6 STELLENBOSCH · OUDTSHOORN 192 Our day commences as we head to Oudtshoorn, one of the country's hidden gems, where on arrival we explore the impressive underground wonders of the Cango Caves. Oudtshoorn is known as the `feather capital', due to the highly prosperous ostrich-farming industry, which has been cultivated over the years, particularly when feathers were fashionable accessories. We visit the Safari Ostrich farm where you will have a chance to enter the hatchery and perhaps witness the miracle of life as chicks hatch and then witness the spectacle of the `ostrich derby' race! We conclude the day with a barbecue dinner before arriving at our hotel, the Riempie Estate.
