Our short break includes two evenings of opera*, time to enjoy Verona, the town immortalised by Shakespeare in his play Romeo and Juliet, and a day to marvel at the romantic splendour of Venice. This is followed by three days of tranquillity on Lake Como, visiting some of Italy's best loved villas and gardens including the renowned Villa Carlotta, home to numerous Canova masterpieces, and the picturesque Borromean Islands on Lake Maggiore.
