Our tour offers a treasure trove of unexpected architectural and sophisticated treats as well as the spectacular scenery - lush forests, flower-bedecked pastureland, rugged mountain ranges, peaceful fjords - and the unreserved hospitality for which these very open and sincere peoples are justly famous. 14 DAYS FROM £1845 The Archipelago - Stockholm Norwegian fjord Copenhagen · Elsinor · Helsingborg ·Jonkoping · Stockholm Uppsala · Falun · Lillehammer · Geiranger · Balestrand · Bergen This holiday includes 13 breakfasts and 10 evening meals DAY 1 LONDON · COPENHAGEN sits, before seeing the impressive Royal Theatre. Our tour concludes at the Royal residence of Amalienborg Palace after which we return to our hotel. Time is then free for the remainder of the day to further enjoy this charming city in the midst of which is the delightful Tivoli Gardens. Scandinavia We begin with Titan's VIP Home Departure ServiceTM to London Heathrow Airport and our direct scheduled Scandinavian Airlines flight to Copenhagen. On arrival we will be transferred to the Admiral Hotel, formerly a granary preserved with its 18th century external architecture and very distinctive character within. The hotel is situated close to Nyhavn, the old quay, bustling with café and restaurant life. This is our base for the next two nights and where we have dinner this evening. DAY 3 COPENHAGEN · ELSINOR · HELSINGBORG · JONKOPING DAY 2 COPENHAGEN This morning we have arranged a familiarisation tour of cosmopolitan Copenhagen known as "the lovely old queen of the sea" brought alive through the fairytale writing of Hans Christian Andersen. Commencing with a visit to the Gefion Fountain and the bronze statue of the `Little Mermaid' we continue to Rosenborg and, weather permitting, a short walk through the delightful gardens. We pass the Carlsberg Glyptotek, through the colourful canal district and the National Museum to Christianborg Palace, where the Danish Parliament Tivoli Gardens - Copenhagen Travelling north on the coastal route we pass the Dyrehaven Royal Deer Park before visiting Frederiksborg. This impressive castle with its landscaped gardens was the former residence of Danish monarchs where in the elaborate Christian IV's chapel they were crowned but today this chapel forms part of the museum and is used by the local parish. We pass Fredensborg, the Queen of Denmark's summer residence before arriving at Elsinor. From here we take the short ferry crossing to Sweden and half way across the Oresund Strait the green spires of Hamlet's Kronborg Castle are clearly visible. After arriving at the historic city of Helsingborg we travel to Jonkoping situated on the Southern shores of Lake Vattern and the Quality Hotel Winn, Huskvarna, located close to the town of Jonkoping, where we have dinner this evening. DAY 4 JONKOPING · STOCKHOLM Travelling north to the picturesque town of Granna, known for its candyrock, hot air balloons and pear orchards. We continue through Norrkoping to Sweden's capital, Stockholm. For the next three nights we stay at the well located First Hotel Amaranten where we have dinner this evening. The Vasa warship Norwegian coastline DAY 5 STOCKHOLM 344 Stockholm, `Beauty on the Water', is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Today we tour this fascinating city passing through Gamla Stan, the old town, and continuing past the Royal Palace and City Hall, site of the Nobel Prize, concluding at the Vasa Museum, where the beautifully restored warship `Vasa', which sank on its maiden voyage in 1627, can be seen. This afternoon is at leisure and you are free to spend the remainder of the day in this stunning city encompassing fourteen islands between Lake Malaren and the Baltic Sea. Why not explore Gamla Stan, the old town of Stockholm, strolling through its warren of narrow cobbled lanes with its array of intriguing boutiques, antique and curio shops, pavement restaurants and cafes or take a cruise through the archipelago, a world of 24,000 islands.
