Our rail journey today takes us via the Swiss capital of Bern before heading south into the heart of the Swiss Alps. Nestled between the lakes of Thun and Brienz and at the base of a trio of mountain peaks lies Interlaken. We leave our train at Thun and board a boat for a spectacular cruise across the lake to Interlaken. One of the oldest resorts in Switzerland and famed for its views of the Jungfrau massif, Interlaken is today a busy town, ideally located to explore the surrounding area. Our hotel for tonight is Hotel du Nord.

Jungfrau Railway

After breakfast we travel the short distance to Lauterbrunnen to commence our journey on the Jungfrau Railway, to Europe's highest railway station at 3,454 meters (11,333 feet), Jungfraujoch. This is Switzerland's most popular mountain railway excursion, allowing guests to travel on trains that trundle through the lush countryside from Interlaken, tunnelling clean through the Eiger before emerging at the Jungfraujoch almost two miles above sea level. Magnificent views, extending as far as the summits of the Vosges Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany, that will make you feel as if you are on top of the World.

Glacier Express · St Moritz

The highlight for many will be today's journey aboard the world famous Glacier Express to St Moritz. Travelling by rail provides an unrivalled view as we travel through the unspoilt landscape that unfolds before us through the panoramic windows. Sit back and relax in first class and be delighted with cascading mountain streams, alpine pastures and dramatic mountain peaks. We arrive into our destination later this afternoon and make our way to our hotel for the next two nights, the Schweizerhof Hotel. St Moritz is one of the most famous resorts, with a chic and elegant reputation. This evening you are free to explore the wealth of restaurants and bars on offer.

Day 7
Bernina Express
Today's first class journey aboard the Bernina Express crosses the Alps at their highest rail crossing and allows us to enjoy another wonderful, relaxing journey through the spectacular scenery of Switzerland, as we cross viaducts, travel through a multitude of tunnels and travel beside rushing mountain streams to our destination. There will be time to stretch our legs before we board our train for the return journey to St Moritz, where the evening is again free for you to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Mount Pilatus
This excursion takes you 7,000ft above sea level to Mount Pilatus. You commence the trip in Lucerne by joining the boat for a leisurely cruise to Alpnachstad where you will continue by cog railway to the summit of Mount Pilatus. Here you will have time to walk up to the vista point and enjoy the spectacular views over central Switzerland (weather permitting). You will then return by arial cable car to Kriens for your short transfer back to Lucerne. PRICE: £65 per person

We leave glitzy St Moritz behind us this morning and head north by rail to the lakeside city of Lucerne. We arrive into the city early afternoon for a city tour. Lucerne has much to offer from the medieval city, Lake Lucerne and a mountain backdrop, all contrasting with the modern innovative design for which the city is becoming known, such as the futuristic Culture and Convention Centre. After our tour, we transfer to our hotel for the next two nights, the Wilden Mann. The remainder of the evening is free for you to explore and dine at your leisure.

Lucerne
Today is free for you to relax and take things at your own pace. Why not take a stroll through the car free streets of the Old Town, lined with fresco-decorated houses, enjoy browsing exclusive shops, visit the Picasso Museum, or cruise out onto Lake Lucerne. Alternatively, you may wish to join our optional excursion to Mount Pilatus, which stands at over 7,000 ft, details can be found in the Optional Excursion panel.
This excursion may be subject to change due to adverse weather conditions and/or other local factors. A minimum number of participants is required to operate this excursion. This trip must be booked prior to departure.

We leave Lucerne this morning for our rail journey to Paris via Geneva. We arrive into Paris late this afternoon and transfer to our hotel, the Pullman Paris Bercy hotel in the heart of Bercy Village in Paris. .
Day 11
Paris · London
We make the short journey to Paris Gare du Nord, for the Eurostar service back to London Ebbsfleet. On arrival, our staff will meet you and transfer you to Titan HiTours transport for your journey home to your front door.

Please note: Porterage facilities are not readily available at stations and whilst baggage handling between hotel and station is often included clients must be able to lift their own suitcase on and off the train. Verticle trolley suitcases, with a retractable handle and built in wheels are recommended. This tour includes areas of high altitude and clients who maybe concerned are recommended to consult their doctor.
