Bahrain
Bahrain is an archipelago of 33 islands scattered like pearls across the Gulf of Arabia. This tiny oasis is distinctly Arabian in character, with its traditional souks and ancient mosques, but added to this are top-class hotels, fabulous beaches and much more besides. The country offers a fascinating blend of eastern and western cultures, glitzy high-rise buildings rub shoulders with traditional architecture. This island kingdom enjoys a cosmopolitan lifestyle and a relaxed and liberal attitude to life. Perfect for a spot of sunbathing and lazing on the beach, Bahrain also offers excellent diving as well as a host of land- and water-based sports. Minarets and skyscrapers vie for your attention on the skyline and it is this combination of new and old which makes Bahrain so much more than a beach destination.
