Departures: Daily Day 1: Windhoek After a comprehensive meet and greet at the airport, you will collect your vehicle and head to your chosen property for an overnight stay. You will have the afternoon at leisure to laze around the pool or do some sightseeing around Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. Standard: Hotel Pension Moni Superior: Olive Grove Days 2 & 3: Windhoek - Sossusvlei After breakfast you will set off for the dunes of Sossusvlei. The special attraction of the NamibRand is the captivating beauty and diversity of its landscape, which changes from gravel plains, to rugged canyons with towering walls of volcanic rock and distant mountain ranges. There are numerous optional activities to partake in over the next couple of days, including climbing the highest dunes in the world. (B, superior option BD) Standard: Desert Homestead Superior: Kulala Desert Lodge Days 4 & 5: Sossusvlei - Swakopmund After a final gaze at the beautiful surrounding landscape, you will drive to the coastal town of Swakopmund, where you will spend the next two nights. There are a host of optional activities to keep you occupied, including marine cruises in Walvis Bay, sand-boarding and quad-biking. (B) Standard: Strand Hotel Superior: The Stiltz Day 6: Swakopmund - Damaraland We suggest an early start and this time you will travel north along the coastline. of Cape Fur Seals, is strongly recommended. Your lodge is situated in the heart of Damaraland, a vast wilderness with fascinating geological formations and a wealth of rock art. It is also home to the desert elephant and the endangered black rhino. Another optional activity would be to visit Burnt Mountain, and the Organ Pipes. (B, superior option BD) Standard: Twyfelfontein Country Lodge Superior: Mowani Mountain Camp Days 7 & 8: Damaraland - Etosha After breakfast you will be travelling north east to the Etosha National Park. Here you will be spending two nights. Etosha consists of an ancient lake that has dried up to create a shimmering salt pan. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times to go game-viewing and Etosha boasts all of the big game, except buffalo (entrance fees not included). (B, superior option BD) Standard: Etosha Safari Camp Superior: Epacha Game Lodge & Spa
Day 9: Etosha Today after breakfast you will travel through the park for a full day of game viewing (entrance fees for the park are not included). You will reach the gate on the eastern side of the park where you will find your lodge. The lodges are situated on a 4,000-hectare game park on the eastern edge of the Etosha National Park where dense forests attract predators including the leopard. Enjoy fine dining under the African sky around a boma, whilst being entertained by the resident tribal dancers. (B, superior option BD) Standard: Mokuti Lodge Superior: Onguma Plains Camp Day 10: Etosha - Otjiwarongo Today you will be travelling south to Otjiwarongo. Just before Otjiwarongo you will find the lodge where you will be spending the evening. A wonderful excursion that can be enjoyed is a trip to the nearby cheetah conservation; activities here include viewing of the cheetah feed or the cheetah exercise. The activities only take place at certain times, so it is advisable to enquire ahead of time. (B, superior option BD) Standard: Indongo Lodge Superior: Okonjima Lodge Day 11: Otjiwarongo - Windhoek Today you will have an early start to ensure you arrive at the airport in time for your onward or homeward flight. It is advisable to book a flight no earlier than 15.00, to ensure you leave yourself enough time to get to the airport and drop off your vehicle.
