Departures: Wednesday, Friday & Sunday Day 1: Durban - St. Lucia - Hluhluwe Today travel north along the coastal road to St. Lucia stopping en-route at Mtubatuba where you will experience
traditional dance, bead-making and iSangoma (`witchdoctor') at a Zulu cultural village. Later watch for hippo and crocodile whilst cruising on Lake St. Lucia before settling into your lodge in Hluhluwe, where you can enjoy a two-night stay. (D) Overnight: Gazebo Safari Lodge or similar Day 2: Hluhluwe Game Reserve Enjoy searching for buffalo, lion and elephant amongst other, on your full-day game experience. You will also visit Centenary Centre, renowned for capture and translocation of game, especially white rhino. Later return to your lodge and relax before dinner. (BD) Day 3: Hluhluwe Durban Depart early morning for one last game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast before continuing onto Durban where your tour ends late afternoon. (B)

Departures: Monday Day 1: Durban Fugitives' Drift Early departure from Durban, where en-route an expert Battlefield guide shares their impressive knowledge of the 1879 battle of Isandlawana. Here is where British troops did battle with the Zulu Impis (warriors). Continue to Fugitives' Drift and Rorke's Drift. (LD) Overnight: Lennox Cottages or similar Day 2: Fugitives' Drift Durban After a hearty breakfast, visit the Boer war museum and then proceed to Ladismith and Spioenkop Mountain. Over a picnic lunch the guide will recount the tragic battle between the Boers and British in January 1900, where Winston Churchill, then a reporter, and Gandhi, a stretcher bearer, witnessed this battle. After lunch, return to Durban arriving late afternoon. (BL)

Day 1: Arrival Durban On arrival into Durban, collect your car and enjoy the short drive to your hotel. This magnificent manor house is situated in a lush coastal forest. Relax and unwind in the spa or at the private beach club. Overnight: Selbourne Spa and Golf Estate Day 2: Durban Today, head into Durban and experience the vibrancy of this cultural city, which is also South Africa's most popular seaside playground. Visit the bustling markets, the Valley of a Thousand Hills, uShaka Marine World, and sample one of the finest curries outside of India! (B) Day 3: Durban - Nottingham Road (130km) A leisurely drive from Durban takes you on the `Midlands Meander' trail. Enjoy the lush scenery. After lunch, enjoy this fabulous spa retreat. There is also a resident traditional healer who will consult with you (subject to availability) on spiritual and traditional treatments. (B) Overnight: Fordoun Hotel & Spa Day 4: Nottingham Road - Drakensberg (125km) This morning, perhaps enjoy a last-minute spa treatment before heading for the Drakensberg. Take the N3 towards Escourt, or make a detour to Karkloof Nature Reserve and try an exhilarating treetop canopy tour. On arrival at your hotel, enjoy a sundowner overlooking the spectacular Drakensberg mountain range. (B) Overnight: Drakensberg Sun Day 5: Drakensberg Enjoy a full day exploring the Drakensberg on one of the many hiking trails, or try your hand at horseriding, fishing or mountain biking. Day 6: Drakensberg - Johannesburg (370km) Today, take in more of the spectacular scenery towards the north of the Drakensberg, en-route to Johannesburg, where you will drop off your car. It is also possible to return your car to a Durban depot. (B)
