The Garden Route & Eastern Cape This is probably one of the best known journeys in the Southern Hemisphere. The Garden Route meanders from Mossel Bay in the west to Storms River in the east. Within a relatively short distance the sheer variety of landscape, wildlife and vegetation will take your breath away. Be adventurous and head off on Route 62, it's a much more interesting drive and the flowers and scenery are quite wonderful. You'll find secluded coves, charming towns and villages and endless photo opportunities. Don't miss Plettenberg Bay with its stylish shops and smart hotels it's no wonder it has become known as the `Pearl of the Garden Route'. At the end of your trip, consider visiting one of the Eastern Cape's excellent game reserves, all malaria-free and a perfect way to experience the thrill of the African bush.
