These carefully selected comfortable and spacious camps, perfectly complement each other in terms of guiding, accommodation, style and camp location. immense, remote and wild and no human habitation is allowed within its boundaries, apart from within camps and lodges. Today it boasts some of Africa's finest virgin bush, unchanged through centuries and inhabited by three quarters of a million wild animals. The river systems and gorges are fascinating, as are the swamps, woodlands and savannahs, all home to hippo, crocodile, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, giraffe, waterbuck, baboon, leopards, lion, wild dog, eland, sable and roan, to mention just a few of the species. The bird-life is also extremely rich.(BLD) Day 4: Selous Game Reserve  Ruaha National Park After breakfast, depart from Selous airstrip for Ruaha. On arrival, you will be met by a guide and transferred to the camp in time for a delicious lunch. After lunch and a siesta, the rest of the afternoon will be spent on a game drive within the reserve.(BLD) Overnight: Ruaha River Lodge Days 5 & 6: Ruaha National Park Over the next two days, enjoy the many game activities on offer in Ruaha. At 13,000 sq km, Ruaha is not much smaller than the Serengeti, however, only a fraction has been developed for tourism. For those seeking adventure, this is the place! Its landscape is fascinating and the wilderness vast. Here, rocky outcrops, steep gorges, wooded forests and miombo woodlands all centre around the flood plains of the great sandy Ruaha River. This captivating river is lined with tamarind, winterthorn and palm trees, making it a great haunt for hippo, kudu, lion, leopard and elephant.(BLD) Selous Riverside camp Day 7: Ruaha National Park  Dar es Salaam After breakfast, depart on your last game drive with a picnic lunch to Ruaha airstrip for your flight to Dar es Salaam. South Adventure By Air Twin 1746 1840 1772 2008 Single 2039 2218 2086 2345 A Taste of Kili 7 Days Kilimanjaro to Kilimanjaro The easiest and most popular route to the summit, the 'Marangu Route' is used by almost 50% of all climbers and uses comfortable mountain huts with solar powered lighting. It is suitable for those adventurers who are not particularly experienced in the mountains, therefore classified as a moderate trek rather than a climb. the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. The terrain changes to scree and there is a palpable sense of high altitude wilderness. You will reach Kibo (4,700m) at the bottom of the crater wall by midday. The remainder of the day is spent resting and eating in preparation for the final climb before a very early night! (4-5 hours walking).(BLD) Overnight: Kibo Mountain Huts Day 5: Kibo  Horombo Today, your climb starts at 01.00 by torchlight, aiming to be up at Gillman's Point by sunrise. Here you will rest and spend some time taking in the sunrise. The descent is surprisingly fast and you will return to Horombo for the night. (11-15 hours walking).(BLD) Overnight: Horombo Mountain Huts Day 6: Horombo  Moshi Town Retrace your steps with a pleasant moorland walk to Mandara and then a lovely forest walk to the National Park gates (5-6 hours walking). When you finish the climb, there will be a vehicle waiting to meet you and transfer you back to your hotel for your overnight.(BLD) Overnight: Springlands Hotel Day 7: Moshi Town  Kilimanjaro After breakfast you are transferred to Kilimanjaro airport for your onward or homebound flight.(B) Departures: Daily Day 1: Arrive Kilimanjaro On arrival into Kilimanjaro you will be met and transferred to your hotel, located in Moshi Town and close to the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here you will have a climb briefing and time to prepare before your adventure begins. Overnight: Springlands Hotel Day 2: Moshi Town  Mandara The National Park Gate (1,830m) lies at the edge of Marangu, which is an attractive village with many small coffee and banana plantations. After completing the entrance formalities, you will climb up through attractive and unspoilt forest to reach the clearing containing Mandara Hut (2,700m). This area is rich in birdlife and often monkeys are seen here too. (3-5 hours walking).(BLD) Overnight: Mandara Mountain Huts Day 3: Mandara  Horombo The first part of the walk is a steep ascent through the forest, opening out onto grassy moorland and in clear weather, there are good views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.
