Japan Touring
A Tale of Two Cities
7 Days Tokyo to Tokyo.
Mount Fuji
Departures: Daily (excluding public holidays) Day 1: Arrive Tokyo On arrival into Tokyo airport you'll be shown to your coach and transferred to the Shiba Park Hotel. Day 2: Tokyo sightseeing This comprehensive full day tour visits all the sights of the Highlights of the Capital Tour (see page 127) and other attractions including a 30-minute Sumida River Cruise, Asakusa Kannon Temple, Nakamise Shopping District plus a traditional Japanese lunch.(L) Day 3: Tokyo at leisure A full day at leisure to explore Japan's fascinating capital. Day 4: Tokyo Mount Fuji Hakone After packing an overnight bag your main luggage will be transferred to your Kyoto hotel for safe keeping and you will commence a full day's touring, starting with a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean from the fifth station on Mount Fuji (weather permitting). Continue on to Hakone
National Park for a cable car ride over the volcanic Hakone Mountains. This afternoon, visit Owakudani Boiling Valley, where clouds of steam rise from the rocks, before relaxing on a boat cruise across Lake Ashi. Tonight stay at the Prince Hakone Hotel which boasts one of the best locations of all the hotels in Hakone.(L) Day 5: Hakone - Nara - Kyoto This morning Japan's high-speed bullet train will whisk you to Kyoto where you will be met and escorted to the New Miyako Hotel for your stay in the modern South Wing. In the afternoon travel to Nara for an excursion to the Todaji Temple, the Kasuga Shrine and beautiful Nara Park. Day 6: Kyoto sightseeing This morning enjoy a tour of Kyoto, the former capital of Japan. Visit the elaborate Nijo Castle, the home of the shogun on his visits to the city, the stunning Kinkakuji Temple and the classic architecture of the Old Imperial Palace. The afternoon is free to enjoy the city.
Day: 7 Kyoto Tokyo The morning is your own to either visit the city's sights or the quaint shops that are on offer, before boarding the bullet train at Kyoto Station to journey back to Tokyo Station where your tour ends.
This is a partially escorted tour with train journeys being made independently Please note a supplement is charged if travelling with over one piece of luggage per person.
