Mekhala Overnight River Cruise
2 Days Bangkok to Bangkok, Group Journey.
Beautifully crafted, Mekhala is a collection of three restored rice barges that provide the setting for daily journeys between Bangkok and Ayuthaya, retracing the paths of former royal processions. Their journey is a fascinating insight into how life on the river has changed over this time. Departures: Daily Day 2: Ayuthaya Bangkok Day 1: Bangkok Mekhala on the river You will be picked up from your Bangkok hotel for an early afternoon transfer to one of the Mekhala barges located on the bustling Chao Phraya River. The cruise passes the Grand Palace and many other stunning riverside temples as it heads out of Bangkok. You will have the chance to relax and watch the local people, that work and live by the river, go about their daily routines.
