What to See and Do
Bondi Beach
Sydney
With a fabulous harbour, cosmopolitan vibe and a coastline fringed with beautiful beaches like Bondi, there are few places in the world to rival Sydney. Add to this a near perfect climate where the sun shines for most of the year and it is easy to see why visitors fall under its spell. One visit will never be enough, the magic will call you back time and time again.
The Blue Mountains
Just a little under 2 hours from the centre of Sydney this beautiful and tranquil region is the perfect escape from day to day life. Enjoy crisp clean air, dramatic scenery and utter relaxation. As well as this the area is known for its fine food and is surrounded by quaint towns and villages. It's quite idyllic and an absolutely essential part of any holiday to the region.
The Hunter Valley
For fans of Australian wine this is probably as close to paradise as you can get. Gently rolling countryside and beautiful vineyards are all waiting to be discovered. Not only are there many fine wines to be sampled but also some really excellent food too. Easily accessible from Sydney you can visit for the day, although most people choose to stay for longer. Its charms are far too alluring for a flying visit.
Port Stephens
Sitting in a pretty sheltered bay and blessed with a wonderful coastline. Port Stephens is known as the dolphin capital of Australia and is just a short trip north of Sydney. Here you can enjoy the very best of nature including dolphin watching, 4WD tours and whale watching. You might even be lucky enough to spot a koala in the wild.
Blue Mountains
Byron Bay
Fabulous beaches and crystal clear seas await visitors to Byron. Over the years an interesting mix of characters have flocked here and you'll notice a distinctly new age feel to the place. After experiencing the lively nightlife you might want to explore the hinterland in search of pampering and rejuvenation. It's just the thing to make you feel, if not look, years younger.
