Days 1-4: The Observatory Hotel, Sydney Stay four nights at the Orient Express-owned Observatory Hotel in Sydney (page 48). This luxury property is located in The Rocks, nestled near the vibrant harbour and Sydney Harbour Bridge, an ideal base from which to explore Australia's most vibrant city. Days 5-7: Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort Depart Sydney as your private 4WD transfer takes you to Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa, our preferred accommodation in The Blue Mountains. Stay 2 nights here and adapt to the calm of the World Heritage region and the luxury of your second Orient Express property. At the end of your stay a private 4WD transfer will take you back to to the city or to the airport should you so wish. Prices from £785 per person including six nights accommodation, full breakfast daily and 4WD transfers as detailed.
This package includes one free night at The Observatory Hotel. Alternatively you may choose to enjoy the free night at Lilianfels and so spend three nights at each hotel for the same price. Please request at time of booking. Transfers between Sydney Airport and The Observatory Hotel are not included.

Day 1: Sydney - Blue Mountains (100km/62miles) Collect your car and depart Sydney, heading west for the Blue Mountains. You'll see the best views from Echo Point. Visit the spectacular Wentworth Falls and visit the picturesque town of Leura. Overnight for two nights in The Blue Mountains. Standard: York Leura Gardens Resort Superior: Grand Mercure Hotel Hydro Majestic Boutique: Lilianfels Resort & Spa Day 2: Blue Mountains Spend a day at leisure in the Blue Mountains to explore the region including the Jenolan Caves and the many different walking tracks. Day 3: Blue Mountains Hunter Valley (175km/109miles) After a leisurely breakfast (own expense) head off from the Blue Mountains. Travel through the pretty Brisbane Water and Wollemi National Parks en route. Arrive in Cessnock
which is the gateway to the Hunter Valley and visit wineries in abundance. You will also find that the Hunter Valley has many excellent restaurants for you to sample. Standard: Hunter Resort Superior: Sebel Kirkton Park Boutique: Peppers Guest House Day 4: Hunter Valley Port Stephens (150kms/93miles) Drive through the pretty Hunter Valley and evocatively named Lemon Tree passage to reach Port Stephens. It is here you will have the chance to see the bottlenose dolphins which play in the bay. While staying in Port Stephens you can look forward to fabulous seafood and wonderful beaches. Day 5: Port Stephens - Sydney (175km/109miles) Leaving Port Stephens travel south along the Pacific Highway through Newcastle and past Lake Macquarie. Drive back into Sydney over the iconic Harbour Bridge. Your car is booked until tomorrow and should be dropped off at the city or airport at the same time that it was picked up on day one to avoid any additional charges.
