New South Wales New South Wales is the site where Captain Cook first landed and the state attracts thousands of visitors every year. Stunning beaches, excellent surfing, beautiful scenery, impressive wineries, and of course Sydney, one of the world's favourite cities, all await you. New South Wales enjoys a warm, temperate climate and seasonal changes throughout the year. The attractions of Sydney will keep you busy for days. But be sure to allow a few days to discover beyond the city. The wine-producing regions of the Hunter Valley have definite appeal. And spend a few days if you can in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains, before perhaps heading up the coast to fabulous Byron Bay.
