Darwin & The Top End
Darwin is the capital of the Northern Territory and gateway city for many adventures in the `Top End'. Visitors find a vibrant and modern city with a happy go lucky air. Being geographically closer to Jarkarta than to Canberra you can sometimes feel far removed from the rest of the country. If travelling from the more temperate regions of Australia you'll notice the change in climate too. The city has been completely rebuilt since the devastating cyclone in the 1970's and today is home to many museums, galleries and gardens. The proximity to the spectacular World Heritage listed National Parks of Kakadu, Litchfield and Katherine Gorge make it the ideal place to base yourself. These are essential places to visit if you are interested in Aboriginal culture, wildlife and simply jaw dropping scenery.
