Departures: Daily Day 1: Adelaide - Barossa Valley On this adventure, travel in comfort with an expert wine guide around two of Australia's most picturesque and historically important wine regions. Each has its own distinct character, culture and array of wines. Your journey starts in Adelaide, through the Adelaide Hills, to the Barossa valley wine region, where after a stop for morning tea you will visit a variety of wineries so as to become acquainted with the major wine styles of the area. Lunch is at a local restaurant, typifying the produce of the Barossa, after which you may visit further wineries or explore other local produce such as cheeses, smoked meats, or dried fruits. Stay overnight in one of a selection of specially selected properties. All accommodation is individually characteristic and set in rural surrounds. You wil have the opportunity to just sit and relax and absorb the tranquil peace and surrounding landscape before enjoying a hearty Aussie country evening meal. (D) Overnight: Selected accommodation
Day 2: Barossa Valley - Adelaide After breakfast, your second day of touring takes you through delightful countryside to the historic copper mining town of Burra for a morning tea stop. From Burra you proceed to the Clare Valley to visit a variety of wineries and gain an overview of the regions wine styles. Lunch is in one of the Valley's delightful villages after which you may visit further wineries or explore local craft and produce before retuning to Adelaide through the fertile plains north of the city, bringing to an end a delightful excursion. 3 Days Adelaide to Adelaide from £286
Day 1 Adelaide Barossa Valley Set off from Adelaide and head north over the Torrens River and into Torrens Gorge. The area covers almost 400 square kilometres is outstandingly beautiful. You may be lucky and see kangaroos and emus grazing along the way. As you reach the Chain of Ponds see giant reservoirs against a backdrop of towering pine trees. Enjoy morning tea in Williamstown and admire the lovely stone buildings. A lunch stop will be made at a local winery where you can sample local meats and cheeses. Spend the afternoon among the vineyards sampling a variety of wines. Continue to your hotel for a two night stay. (L) Standard: Novotel Resort, Barossa Valley Superior: Peppers the Louise, Barossa Valley Day 2: Barossa Valley You have a full day at leisure to explore this beautiful wine producing region. For early risers there are morning balloon flights where you glide effortlessly over the countryside. You may like to explore the many galleries and shops in the area or head out to a winery for a delicious al fresco lunch. Getting around is easy, there are plenty of tours on offer and we are happy to assist with suggestions. There are a host of things to keep you occupied whether you want to explore, indulge or simply unwind. Day 3 Barossa Valley Adelaide Morning departure from your hotel to Adelaide, enjoy the scenic drive back into the city. You may like spend a few days exploring the `City of Churches' or head off elsewhere in Australia on another adventure.
