Victoria
Welcome to Victoria, a state of varied contrasts and home to the stunning stretch of coastline known as the Great Ocean Road. It is also home to the sporting capital of Australia, Melbourne, which plays host throughout the year to numerous world-class sporting events such as the Formula 1, Grand Prix, Australian Open Tennis Championship and the famous Melbourne Cup, the 'race that stops a nation'. In Southeast Victoria is the beautiful Mornington Peninsula surrounded by rolling hills, bays and beaches. Animal lovers, make sure you visit the Phillip Island Nature Park, to see penguins, seals, koalas and birds. Within easy reach of Melbourne is the beautiful Yarra Valley wine region, and relaxation lovers, look no further than the heavenly Daylesford spa region.

· Victoria is well known as a centre for sporting excellence and you will find throughout the year there are a number of events taking place. From tennis to grand prix, racing and rugby there's always something going on. Try to take in a game of Aussie Rules football, its fast and fun and a real authentic Australian experience. · There's no better way to get over a long flight than by indulging in a spot of pampering. · Spend some time exploring the Victorian countryside. Within just a short drive of Melbourne is the Yarra Valley and its abundant wineries. Unless you plan to stay overnight the best way to do this is by organised tour, it's a great way to spend the day and you'll really get the most out of the region. · Explore the charming towns and villages along the Great Ocean Road, there's many an idyllic spot for lunch or tea and coffee break. Take your time and enjoy, this is one of the most scenic drives in the world and it would be a shame to miss anything.
