What to See and Do
Melbourne
Melbourne is set around the shores of Port Phillip Bay, on the banks of the Yarra River, and boasts a lively cosmopolitan pulse. The city is famed for its great sporting events, a passion for food and wine and a fabulous arts scene. Explore at your own pace, hopping on a tram is a great way to get around. Be sure to see bustling Queen Victoria Market or alternatively check out the designer shops and art galleries.
Philip Island
Drive 90 minutes from Melbourne and you'll find yourself standing nose to nose with koalas, sharing a beach with hungry pelicans, watching a colony of fur seals splashing in the sun, and of course, walking with the famous penguins. To really get the most out of your experience take an organised tour with a guide who will share their knowledge of the flora and fauna.
Mornington Peninsula
Just an hour or so from Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula has in excess of 170 vineyards many of which have wineries attached. Spend some time discovering this pretty region. It's perfect for a self drive tour. You'll enjoy long sandy beaches, lush green hinterland and lively local markets.
Yarra Valley
To the east of Melbourne lies the Yarra Valley wine region, complete with over 55 wineries. From small family owned vineyards to the famed Chateau Yering and Domain Chandon, you'll taste stunning pinot noir, chardonnay and sparkling. And along with the wineries themselves you'll find fantastic local produce, markets and festivals.
