· The city's tram network makes getting around the city easy and fun. Arm yourself with a good map and plan a day around the city by public transport. There's even a free circle tram around the city centre. · Explore the Southbank's many cafés and restaurants, nothing could be better than enjoying lunch overlooking the Yarra River washed down with a bottle of Victoria's finest wine. · A trip to the top of the Eureka tower is an essential part of visiting the city, not only are the views tremendous but it's the only observation deck in the world where you can stand in a glass cube 300 metres above the city! · Take a stroll through Melbourne's chaotic but good humoured Queen Victoria Market. Not only can you see, taste and buy a whole array of food but you'll also be entertained by the lively banter and buskers. · Melbourne is the sporting and cultural capital of Australia and there's nearly always a special event talking place. With grand prix, cricket, horse racing, Aussie rules football to name but a few, sports fans are well catered for. · Melbourne is the home of Ramsay Street so if you are a soap fan don't miss a chance to pay the Neighbours a visit. Day 1: Arrive Melbourne On arrival in Melbourne transfer by shuttle to your chosen hotel for your three-night stay. Afterwards, the Grand Prix site at Albert Park, Port Melbourne by the sea, the bustling Queen Victoria Market and Fitzroy Gardens. The beautiful Dandenong Ranges with towering forests, deep gullies and the sound of the kookaburras are next before you return to Melbourne and board the 1927 Colonial Tramcar for an unforgettable dining experience as you trundle around the city as the sun sets. (D) Day 3: Great Ocean Road Adventure An early start this morning travelling through the towns of Torquay, Anglesea and Lorne and past the surfing mecca of Bell's Beach. This coast boasts impressive, endless beaches, rugged cliffs, sleepy seaside villages and enormous natural
sandstone monoliths which reach skywards and have been racked by wind and sand erosion. With magnificent vistas such as the sand stone Twelve Apostles monoliths, Loch Ard Gorge, the Island Arch and London Bridge, make sure you pack plenty of film! Day 4: Depart Melbourne Transfer from your hotel by shuttle to the airport for your onward flight.
