Victoria Touring 3 Day Coastal Wilderness Tour 3 Days Melbourne to Sydney from £478 Tour CWT Ninety Mile Beach Melbourne Tram Departures: Sun Day 1: Melbourne, Walhalla - Metung This tour departs Melbourne and travels along the Princes Highway to Walhalla the oldest of the Gippsland Gold Towns. After lunch travel to Bairnsdale to overnight at Metung a delightful village set on a thin arm of land that extends out into the Gippsland Lakes. Spend some time wandering along the foreshore, or visit some of the many galleries in the main street before dinner in one of the local restaurants. (D) Overnight: The Moorings Resort, Metung Day 2: Coastal Waterways & Forests Enjoy a continental breakfast this morning aboard a launch cruise across the beautiful Gippsland Lakes; these lakes form the largest inland waterway in Australia. Travel from here onto the south coast of New South Wales. After lunch in Eden continue via Merrimbula to the delightful National Trust classified village of Central Tilba. Continue north to Batemans Bay in Murramarang National Park. The Murramarang Resort has a large population of resident eastern grey kangaroos. A night walk into the national park is available after dinner to spot some of the numerous nocturnal animals such as possums and kangaroos. (BD) Overnight: Murramarang Resort Day 3: Batemans Bay - Sydney This morning take a walk along the beach in front of the resort before leaving for Jervis Bay. Here you will join `Dolphin Watch Cruises', for a two hour cruise to hopefully see dolphins in the wild. Continue through national parks and state forest before heading east to Coolangatta Estate Winery for wine tasting and lunch. After lunch continue north via picturesque Berry, named after Alexander Berry. Next stop is the famous Blowhole at Kiama followed by afternoon tea. Along the way your expert guide will open his treasure chest and amaze you with stories of the region. Leave Melbourne via the West Gate Bridge and travel to Lorne. Further along, at Kennet River, you will take a detour and look for koalas in their natural environment. Lunch is at Apollo Bay before the drive continues through the Otway National Park with its majestic Mountain Ash forest. (D) Overnight: Beacon Point Ocean View Villas Day 2: Apollo Bay - Coonawarra Wine Region After breakfast, travel along the Shipwreck coast to discover how the Twelve Apostles were created. A short drive further along the coast takes you to Loch Ard Gorge, the site of the most infamous shipwrecks. Lunch is in the picturesque township of Port Campbell. Next, you will visit London Bridge and the less visited but equally impressive limestone stacks of the Bay of Martyrs and Bay of Islands. Continue through Warnambool to Mount Gambier then inland to the Coonawarra Wine region for your overnight stay. (BD) Overnight: Chardonnay Lodge Day 3: Coonawarra Wine Region - Adelaide Travel through the Coonawarra' scenic winery region and taste some of the areas wine and food before heading north to the World Heritage listed Naracoorte Caves before lunch in the seaside village of Kingston. The journey towards Adelaide explores the Coorong National Park with an abundance of waterbirds and spectacular scenery, and Hahndorf, a traditional German town in the Adelaide Hills. Arrive in Adelaide around 6pm.
