Departures: Mon Day 1: Perth Albany Journey south via towns such as Williams and Kojonup and onwards to the magnificent Stirling Range National Park. (LD) Overnight: Comfort Inn, Albany Day 2: Albany Pemberton See magnificent coastal scenery and Karri forest before a scenic luncheon cruise on Nornalup Inlet, regarded as one of the last great wilderness areas. Experience a walk on the `Tree Top Canopy Walk' which reaches 40 metres high into the rainforest canopy. (BLD) Overnight: Karri Valley Resort, Pemberton Day 3: Pemberton Margaret River The day begins with a visit to the Gloucester Tree, where you have a chance to climb this former fire watch tower. After morning tea at scenic Beedalup Falls, head to the coast
for breathtaking views. Entering the Margaret River Region, stop for coastal views at Surfers Point Lookout. (BLD) Overnight: All Seasons, Margaret River Day 4: Margaret River Perth Highlights today include a guided tour through Mammoth Cave, and an opportunity to handle birds of prey at Eagle Heritage. You will also enjoy wine tasting at Xanadu Winery and sheep sheering at Yallingup. Late afternoon, return to Perth via Busselton and Bunbury. Day 1: Perth Margaret River (280km/174miles) After collecting your car head south from Perth towards Bunbury, home to the Koombana Bay dolphins. In case the dolphins are around, you are booked on the Dolphin Watch Eco Cruise that departs at 2 pm. (Please note that the driving time from Perth is approximately two hours). The cruise ticket also includes admission to the Dolphin Discovery Centre. From here continue to Bussleton where you can take a stroll on the southern hemisphere's longest wooden jetty before continuing on to Margaret River for two nights. Standard: All Seasons Margaret River Boutique: Cape Lodge Day 2: Margaret River A full day at leisure to explore this lovely part of the country. The region is famous for its excellent wine and you will find some of Australia's finest within easy reach. Many of the wineries have restaurants and so you'll have no problem finding the perfect lunch spot! Day 3: Margaret River Pemberton (138km/85miles) Leave Margaret River and travel south on one of the most scenic drives in Western Australia. Be sure to stop for a walk through Boranup Forest and visit the ancient caves. At Cape Leeuwin you will see where two oceans meet and you may like to take a tour of the lighthouse. (tours leave hourly). Travel on to Pemberton where you can take a tram journey through some of the tallest trees in the world. Day 4: Pemberton Albany (239km/149miles) You might like to spend the day visiting the many galleries and shops in Pemberton before heading to Albany. En route stop off at Northcliffe and view the famous forest sculptures. Visit the Giant Tingle Tree and see the only place in Western Australia where the forest meets the water. Continue to Albany where you will stay two nights. Albany overlooks the Princess Royal Harbour and there are spectacular views from many points around the city. Standard: All Seasons Albany Boutique: The Rocks Day 5: Albany Today you can spend the day getting to know Albany. Pay a visit to Whaleworld, the only whaling museum created from an operational whaling station. Between June and October watch out for magnificent humpback and southern right whales who come to the waters before migrating north for breeding. Day 6: Albany Perth (314km/195miles) Head back to Perth along the Albany Highway. Along the
way stop at the Stirling Range National Park which is the only alpine area in Western Australia. There are plenty more good stops on the way back including Mount Barker and Banksia Farm. Your car is booked until tomorrow. It can be dropped off late afternoon if necessary today.
