Departures: May 23. Jun 6, 27. Jul 4, 11, 25. Aug 1, 8, 15, 29. Sep 12, 19. Oct 3. Day 1: Arrive Halifax Make your own way from Halifax Airport to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Halifax. Overnight: Citadel Halifax (see page 79) Day 2: Halifax Sightseeing This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of charming Halifax, taking in the Historic Properties, the Victorian Public Gardens, the grave sites of those that lost their lives on the `Titanic'. Admission is also included to the remarkable Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. The afternoon is left free for further exploration, and this evening, there's a chance to meet with your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a welcome reception. Day 3: Halifax - Digby Enjoy breakfast in the picturesque fishing village of Peggy's Cove, before visiting the historic port of Lunenburg where you can choose to join a walking tour of the town or visit the Fisheries Museum. Lunenburg is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, in tribute to the well-preserved architecture built by its original German settlers. Continue to the resort of Digby, for an overnight stay along the shores of the Bay of Fundy, known for having the world's biggest tides. (BD) Overnight: The Pines Resort Day 4: Digby - Moncton Enjoy a morning at leisure in Digby before a leisurely journey along the lush Annapolis Valley and through the communities of Grand Pre, Truro and Amherst. Cross into the province of New Brunswick for an overnight stay in the bilingual city of Moncton. (B) Overnight: Crowne Plaza Moncton Day 5: Moncton - Charlottetown Visit the sea stack formations of Hopewell Rocks, created by the huge tides of the Bay of Fundy, where you may be able to walk on the ocean floor if the waters are at low tide.

Continue via the 13km-long Confederation Bridge onto Prince Edward Island, the smallest province in Canada, and spend the next two nights based in Charlottetown. Tonight, enjoy a delicious lobster dinner. (BD) Overnight: Rodd Charlottetown Day 6: Prince Edward Island This morning is free to explore charming Charlottetown, before an island sightseeing tour to visit the red sandstone cliffs, gently sloping sand dunes and stunning white beaches of Prince Edward Island National Park. Move on for an enchanting visit to Green Gables House, famous as the setting of Lucy Maud Montgomery's `Anne of Green Gables' novels. (BL) Day 7: Charlottetown - Baddeck Cross the Northumberland Strait by ferry to head back into Nova Scotia, with its small communities and tranquil scenery. Continue on to Cape Breton Island, the `Scotland of North America', for a two-night stay in the delightful resort of Baddeck. Visit the home of Alexander Graham Bell, now designated a National Historic Site, to marvel at the great inventor's many accomplishments. (BD) Overnight: Inverary Resort (see page 79) Day 8: Cabot Trail Sightseeing Weather permitting, today you will enjoy a whale watching cruise followed by a drive along the stunning Cabot Trail,
one of the prettiest drives in the whole of North America. Enjoy a picnic-style lunch along the way. Pass lochs and glens settled by Scottish Highlanders, many of whom emigrated here during the controversial Highland Clearances of the 19th Century. Tonight, join your fellow travellers for an enjoyable farewell dinner. (BLD) Day 9: Baddeck - Halifax Today, the tour explores the eastern part of Cape Breton Island by circumnavigating the great inland sea of Bras d'Or Lake and touring the Fortress of Louisburg. This remarkable historic site aims to reconstruct the 18th Century lifestyles of the settlers in `New France'. (B) Overnight: Citadel Halifax (see page 79) Day 10: Depart Halifax Your tour ends today upon check-out of your hotel.
