Canada & Alaska have some of the most stunning scenery on earth, and a self-drive tour is the ideal way to discover this. Our tours have been planned to ensure an ideal balance between sightseeing and time spent on the road. Our tours include car rental with Alamo, who supply intermediate cars on standard tours and full size cars on superior tours. Also included is a comprehensive self drive kit including maps, itinerary, vouchers and tourist information.

16 Days Calgary - Vancouver
Departures: Daily (01May08-11Oct08) Day 1: Arrive Calgary On arrival into Calgary Airport make your own way to the Alamo rental depot before driving to your downtown hotel. Upon check-in you will receive a personalised driving kit. Days 2 & 3: Calgary Banff (80 miles) Leaving Calgary behind, set your sights on the magnificent Rocky Mountains and the bustling town of Banff. Banff National Park is a stunning wilderness and your outdoor playground for the next two days. Day 4: Banff Lake Louise (46 miles) Travel through the Bow Valley to get to the acclaimed `Jewel of the Rockies', Lake Louise. With Victoria Glacier in the background, this emerald-coloured lake is sure to leave an indelible impression. Days 5 & 6: Lake Louise Jasper (142 miles) Drive to Jasper, your base for the next two nights via the spectacular Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic routes in the world. Day 7: Jasper Wells Gray Park (273 miles) Drive through the mountains to Wells Gray Provincial Park. View mineral springs, lakes, dormant volcanoes and the impressive Helmcken Falls. Days 8 & 9: Wells Gray Park Gold Bridge (217 miles) Today, make your way to the Tyax Mountain Lake Resort, which offers an amazing selection of activities to create an exciting and fun-filled stay (see page 60 for further details). Day 10: Gold Bridge Whistler (80 miles) Try to start early today so as to allow yourself as much time as possible in the resort town of Whistler. Upon arrival relax in the pedestrian village, enjoy the boutiques, restaurants and cafés or take part in one of the many outdoor activities available. Days 11 & 12: Whistler Pacific Rim National Park (192 miles, not including ferry crossing) Travel the Sea-to-Sky Highway through a landscape carved out by glaciers. Take the ferry across to Vancouver Island and drive to the Pacific Rim National Park with its windswept beaches and dense rainforests. Day 13: Pacific Rim National Park Victoria (200 miles) Today, follow a coastal road through quaint seaside towns as you make your way to Victoria, the beautiful capital of British Columbia.

Days 14 & 15: Victoria Vancouver (43 miles) Make your way back to the mainland and Vancouver on a mini-cruise aboard B.C. Ferries, which guides you around the many Gulf Islands and through the Strait of Georgia. Spend the next two nights enjoying the attractions of this laid-back, cosmopolitan city. Day 16: Vancouver Departure Return your Alamo car to the depot by the same time you picked it up on day one to avoid additional charges.
