Departures: Daily (01May08-12Oct08) Day 1: Arrive Calgary On arrival at Calgary International Airport make your own way to the Alamo rental depot to pick up your hire car. Day 2: Calgary Banff (80 miles) Set your sights today on the Canadian Rockies and feel the majesty of the mountains as you first travel through the foothills and then into Banff National Park. Day 3: Banff National Park Today is free to tour Banff and the surrounding area. We suggest a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain or a simple stroll through town browsing the many shops. Days 4 & 5: Banff Jasper (176 miles) Drive to Jasper via the spectacular Icefields Parkway. We suggest stops at Lake Louise and Peyto Lake en route. At the Columbia Icefield take an `Ice Explorer' ride onto the massive glacier and perhaps taste some of the purest water on earth, direct from a glacial stream.
Day 6: Jasper Sun Peaks (242 miles) The Yellowhead Highway will take you on a route first explored by trappers and traders. You will see Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Day 7: Sun Peaks Vancouver (250 miles) Your journey to Vancouver will traverse the sagebrushcovered ranchlands along the South Thompson River and through the lush Fraser Valley. Day 8: Vancouver Departure Return your Alamo car to the depot by the time it was picked up on day one to avoid any additional charges.

Departures: Daily (11May08-11Oct08)* *Tour not available 19-25Jul Day 1: Arrive Vancouver On arrival into Vancouver's International Airport make your own way to the Alamo rental depot before driving to your downtown hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Day 2: Vancouver Victoria (43 miles) This morning take the ferry to Vancouver Island, and the city of Victoria. This afternoon you will launch into the Pacific aboard a Zodiac powerboat to seek out orca, minke and grey whales, seals, porpoises and other marine wildlife. Day 3: Victoria Tofino (193 miles) Today travel across Vancouver Island to the costal resort of Tofino, close to the Pacific Rim National Park. Day 4: Tofino Today enjoy a 3 hour whale watching expedition. The rest of the day is free to enjoy Tofino, maybe taking a hike along the rugged coastline. Day 5: Tofino Campbell River (180 miles) This morning the spectacular winding road takes you back to the eastern coast of Vancouver Island. Visit the native rock carvings at Sproat Lake and the picturesque falls at Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park. Day 6: Campbell River Today, enjoy a day in the 'Salmon Capital of the World'. Stroll down the Discovery Pier for a chance to see salmon, eagles, or even whales. Day 7: Campbell River Knight Inlet Today's destination is Knight Inlet Lodge. Please see page 63 for full details. Day 8: Knight Inlet Vancouver (145 miles) This morning you will return to Campbell River by floatplane. Your route back to Vancouver will take you through breathtaking coastal scenery, including a ferry crossing of the Strait of Georgia. (B) Day 9: Vancouver Departure This morning you will have time for some further sightseeing or last-minute shopping. Then, return your Alamo car to the depot by the same time it was picked up on day one to avoid any additional charges.
