Halifax & Atlantic Canada
Atlantic Canada is a little-discovered yet rewarding region comprising Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador. The four provinces offer an eclectic mix of landscapes, from fishing villages to scenic countryside, sandy beaches and the Bay of Fundy's massive rock formations. The vibrant maritime city of Halifax, along with Celtic-influenced St. John's in Newfoundland, are the main international gateways.

Day 1: Arrive Halifax On arrival into Halifax International Airport join a scheduled transfer that will take you to your chosen downtown hotel, where you will spend the next three nights. The remainder of the day is free to relax or explore this friendly city. Standard: Citadel Halifax Superior: Delta Halifax Day 2: Explore Halifax Embark on the Deluxe Historic Halifax tour (see below), which provides an ideal orientation to this beautiful city, followed by a free afternoon and evening for independent exploration. Halifax has the second-largest natural harbour in the world and bustles with activity by day and night. Must-see attractions include the charming Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Maritime Museum, which exhibits the city's proud shipbuilding and seafaring heritage. Displays focus on the Titanic disaster, when survivors were taken ashore in Halifax, and the devastating Halifax Explosion during the First World War. Day 3: Lunenburg & Mahone Bay Today, we have included* the sightseeing tour of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay (see below), which allows you to enjoy the picturesque fishing villages along Nova Scotia's southern coastline, with their trim houses and weather-worn wharves. This evening, explore Halifax's vibrant restaurant and nightlife scene, perhaps enjoying a fresh seafood dinner before catching a live music session in one of the city's many traditional pubs. Jazz, blues or Celtic tones are normally the order of the day. Day 4: Depart Halifax After checking out of your hotel this morning, the tour ends with a scheduled transfer back to Halifax Airport.

Deluxe Historic Halifax
Departures Daily from Halifax, 01Jun15Oct Tour SSYHZ 2.5 hours This enjoyable sightseeing tour will take you through the historic streets of this fascinating harbour city, and introduce you to many of its major attractions including St. Paul's Church, the oldest building in Halifax dating back to 1750. Other highlights of the tour include the beautifullyrestored Historic Properties, and the Titanic Burial Site. You will also learn about the devastating Halifax explosion of 1917, when many of the city's residents lost their lives in a wartime accident after an ammunitions-packed ship ran into trouble in the harbour. The tour continues to the Victorian Public Gardens, and to Halifax Citadel National Historic Park (admission to Citadel Hill included) to see the fort in which the 78th Highlanders were garrisoned in the 19th century. Lunenburg & Mahone Bay Tour

This coastline has a strong history of fishing and boat building, and is the setting for many a story of pirates and smugglers. The prosperous town of Lunenburg is home to Nova Scotia's largest fishing fleet, and you'll have plenty of opportunity to explore its charming streets and boutiques. Lunenburg is a colourful and well-preserved maritime community founded by German settlers, and its history and architecture has earned it a well-deserved place on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
