This independent package combines some of the most beautiful, but lesser-known, areas of British Columbia with the more popular destinations of Vancouver and Victoria. Once in resort, the destinations offer you the opportunity to do as much or as little as you wish. Day 1: Vancouver The eclectic city of Vancouver is a good starting point for many adventures and this is no exception. Spend two nights in the city and meander your way around its artistic hotspots, such as Granville Island, and its beautiful park and beach areas. Overnight: Holiday Inn Vancouver Downtown Days 2-4: Vancouver - Sunshine Coast (Egmont) Heading north out of Vancouver, the lesser-know region of the Sunshine Coast, located on British Columbia's western shores, is a gem just waiting to be discovered by you. For years the region has attracted outdoor enthusiasts in search of undisturbed places where nature is left to its own devices. Approx. three hours' drive from the city (including a scenic 40-minute ferry crossing from Horseshoe Bay through Howe Sound to Langdale), the West Coast Wilderness Lodge can be found close to the town on Egmont. Spend your days here strolling amongst the towering cedars and firs that dominate the shoreline, experience a floatplane ride, go fishing or chill out to your heart's content. Whatever you choose to do, or even not to do, your stay here will be a memorable one. Overnight: West Coast Wilderness Lodge Days 5 & 6: Sunshine Coast (Egmont) - Campbell River Hitting the road again, your journey now takes you to Campbell River, self-proclaimed Salmon Capital of the World' and the main gateway for grizzly bear viewing at Knight Inlet Lodge (see page 60) and the beautiful escape of the Sonora Resort (see above). You may wish to amend
your package to take in either or both of these options, if not however then perhaps simply spend your time around the Campbell River area enjoying the varied array of excursions available to you. Overnight: Painter's Lodge Resort Days 7 & 8: Campbell River - Victoria The drive south from Campbell River to Victoria is wonderful, so take your time and make stops at unique places such as Qualicum Beach along the way to ensure you don't miss any good photo opportunities! Spend the next couple of days relaxing and taking in the sights of Victoria and its traditionally British heritage. Overnight: Executive House Hotel Day 9: Victoria - Vancouver Drive to Swartz Bay today for a ferry crossing back to Tsawwassen and Vancouver. Drop your car hire off (at Vancouver airport or at a downtown location), or alternatively choose to extend your stay further.
