Oman - Touring 3 Day Oman Escape Suhar Muscat to Muscat Barka Gulf of Oman Barr Al Jissah Muscat Nizwa Al Mudaybi Sur Ras Al Hadd OMAN Departures: Daily on a private basis. Minimum 2 people. Adventure Day 1: Muscat ­ Ras al Hadd This morning, you will be collected from your Muscat hotel. On the way to Sur, the off-road track passes along the panorama of the Eastern Hajar Mountains with its steep cliffs then onto the sandy beaches on the Gulf of Oman. Enjoy the stunning coastal drive before stopping to enjoy a picnic lunch and a dip in the beautiful blue ocean. Shortly before Tiwi, approach Wadi Shaab before a stop at Qalhat; here see the archaeological ruins of an ancient city. Later drive to Ras al Hadd, the most eastern tip of the Arabian peninsula, and then to the natural resort of the Green Sea Turtles where it is sometimes possible to witness the extraordinary sight of the female Green Turtles approaching the beach to lay their eggs. (LD) Overnight: Ras Al Hadd Beach Hotel Day 2: Ras al Hadd - Wahiba Sands Today, drive along the Indian Ocean through one of the most magnificent landscapes of Oman's East Coast. After lunch, continue to the Wahiba Sands Desert where you will be welcomed by a Bedouin family and have the option to ride on camel back. Later after experiencing the sand dune drive you will arrive at your desert camp. This evening, relax and enjoy an authentic Bedouin dinner. (BLD) Overnight: Campsite at Wahiba Sands Day 3: Wahiba Sands - Wadi Bani Khalid - Muscat Drive along the dunes of Wahiba Sands which will take you to Wadi Bani Khalid ­ one of the most beautiful wadis in the mountains of Oman. Next to the dry vastness of the desert you step into another world. The landscape is filled with lush greenery and fish swim in the clear blue waters of the pools. After lunch in the village of Al Qabil, you will continue your journey through more of the fascinating Hajar mountain range. Various minerals and stone formations make the drive a colourful feast for your eyes. Your tour ends late afternoon at your chosen Muscat hotel. Minimum 2 people. Day 4: Wahiba Sands ­ Ras al Hadd Enjoy breakfast at the campsite before embarking on a sand dune drive. Drive along the dunes of Wahiba Sands which will take you to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most beautiful wadis in the mountains of Oman. Next to the dry vastness of the desert you step into another world. The landscape is filled with lush greenery and fish swim in the clear blue waters of the pools. Continue to Ras al Hadd, the most eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. (BLD) Overnight: Ras Al Hadd Beach Hotel Day 5: Ras al Hadd ­ Muscat Your journey continues on a magnificent off-road track along the coastline. Stop at the ancient ruins of Qalhat, an archaeological excavation site. Later, enter Wadi Shaab for a refreshing walk to enjoy the wild beauty of the landscape. After a picnic lunch your journey continues between the limestone cliffs of the mountains and the sparking ocean. Close to Quriyat, see the famous sinkhole, a geological phenomenon that appears unexpectedly in the limestone plateau. Your tour ends late afternoon as you reach your chosen Muscat hotel. (BL) Suhar Gulf of Oman Barka Barr Al Jissah Muscat Adventure Nizwa Al Mudaybi Day 1: Muscat ­ Nizwa This morning you will be collected from your Muscat hotel where you will begin your drive through the agricultural coastal plain of the Batinah region. The first stop is Seeb to visit the local fish market. From here, head for the mountains until you reach Nakhal, an old oasis once guarded and protected by an impressive fortress. You will also visit the natural spring of warm waters in Ain Thowarah and picnic en-route. Later, continue to Nizwa stopping first at the old mountain village of Misfat. (LD) Overnight: Falaj Daris Hotel Day 2: Nizwa After breakfast, explore the city of Nizwa, once the capital of Oman. See the impressive fortress and the famous souq-trading centre with its silver Bedouin handicrafts. Continue to Jabreen visiting the breathtaking beauty of its historical palace. Before arriving back in Nizwa late afternoon, enjoy the pottery of Bahla and the ruin town of Manah. (BL) Overnight: Falaj Daris Hotel Day 3: Nizwa ­ Wahiba Sands Today you will visit a local market at Sinaw, where Bedouins of the region trade their animals, spices, vegetables and other produce. Lunch will be taken enroute close to the trading city of Ibra. This afternoon enter the Wahiba Sands Desert. Here you will have the choice of discovering the desert by 4WD or on a camel's back, experience Bedouin hospitality with a local family and enjoy Omani coffee and dates. The day finishes peacefully with an authentic Bedouin dinner under the stars.
