Guilin
This pretty little town lies on the beautiful Li River amid the towering limestone karsts which dominate the landscapes of this picturesque region. A cruise on the river is a must and is frequently one of the highlights of a visit to China. We definitely recommend spending a couple of nights in the nearby charming town of Yangshuo. Rent a bicycle for a few days, visit local villages and relax amid the beautiful scenery. Alternatively the rice terraces of Longsheng, four hours to the north-west of Guilin, are an incredible sight and home to numerous colourful minority villages.

Longsheng's Rice Terraces
Day 1: Arrive Guilin Arrive into Guilin airport and you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax and explore the area. Standard: Universal Hotel Superior: The Park Hotel Deluxe: Sheraton Guilin Day 2: Li River, Yangshou & Reed Flute Caves Embark on a cruise down the meandering Li River where you'll enjoy stunning views of the imposing scenery on your way to the town of Yangshou. As you cruise you will pass majestic peaks as limestone cliffs loom over the landscape. A buffet lunch will be served on board whilst you relax and admire the scenery. On arrival into Yangshou spend time browsing the shops before returning to Guilin. En-route stop at the spectacular Reed Flute Caves where limestone erosion
has caused incredible stalagmites and stalactites which are illuminated to reveal impressive rock formations. (BL) Day 3: Longhseng Rice Terraces Today head northwest out to Guilin's countryside to view the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces (Longi Titian), situated in Longsheng. A feat of farm engineering, the terraces reach all the way up to 800 metre peaks. A climb to the top affords amazing vistas which are the perfect place to capture these scenes on camera. (BL) Day 4: Depart Guilin Today you will be transferred from your hotel back to Guilin airport for an onward flight. (BL)
