6 Days Delhi to Delhi. Independent Tour.
Amber Fort
Departures: Daily Day 1: Arrive Delhi You will be met on arrival at Delhi International Airport and transferred to your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city and get your first taste of India. Standard: The Connaught (or similar) Superior: Crowne Plaza Surya (or similar) Day 2: Delhi - Agra After breakfast, depart on a city tour beginning in Old Delhi with a visit to the stunning and historical Jama Mosque, the ornamental Red Fort and the Raj Ghat, a moving memorial to Mahatma Ghandi. After lunch in a local restaurant depart Delhi for the drive to Agra for a two night stay. (BL) Standard: The Holiday Inn (or similar) Superior: Jaypee Palace (or similar) Day 3: Agra Today is spent in Agra and includes a morning city tour. A private guide will take you to the magnificent sites of Agra Fort and the enchanting Taj Mahal. This afternoon is at leisure to explore or relax as you wish. (B)
Day 4: Jaipur This morning, travel to Fatehpur Sikri, also known as the Deserted City. Built in the late 16th century, this royal city was abandoned after only 14 years. Beautifully preserved, the city is built predominantly of red sandstone and is one of the best examples of Mughal architecture in India. On arrival at Jaipur check into your chosen hotel. This afternoon, visit the City Palace, Jaipur Observatory and the famous landmark of Hawa Mahal, also named the Palace of the Winds. (B) Standard: Holiday Inn (or similar) Superior: Country Inn & Suites (or similar) Day 5: Jaipur After breakfast, visit the renowned Amber Fort. Perched high up on the hillside, it commands extensive views over the surrounding valleys and plains beyond. You climb up to the fort on elephant back, which for many is one of the highlights of the tour, before exploring the magnificent Amber Fort Palace. The rest of the day is yours to relax. (B)
Day 6: Jaipur - Delhi This morning is at leisure before you depart this afternoon for Delhi by road. Your tour ends this evening with a transfer to Delhi International Airport, or to your chosen Delhi hotel if you wish to extend your stay. (B)

A marvellous addition to the Golden Triangle is to drive from Jaipur and take the 'Tiger Trail' to Ranthambore National Park. The park covers an area of almost 400 square kilometers and is named after the 10th century fortress which stands within its boundaries. The scenery throughout the park is breathtaking and is explored on your tour which includes 3 safaris with a naturalist guide. On safari you search for sloth bears, crocodiles, deer and jackals and of course the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. Accommodation is provided on a full board basis. You return to Delhi aboard the Jan Shatabdi Express train for your transfer back to the airport. Prices start at £186 full board including 2 nights accommodation on a twin share basis. What better way to end your tour in India than to spend a few days relaxing on a beach? Accessed easily from both Delhi and Mumbai is the former Portuguese colony of Goa where lively resorts, boutique hotels and idyllic beaches offer something for every taste.
