Day 1: Arrive Delhi You will be met on arrival in Delhi and transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay. Standard: Oberoi Maidens Deluxe: The Imperial Day 2: Delhi Today's city tour visits the capital's most famous sights. Admire the Lutyens architecture of New Delhi before exploring the old city on an exciting rickshaw ride through the narrow streets. On the deluxe itinerary dinner is included this evening. (B) Day 3: Delhi - Agra Travel by coach to Agra, where an afternoon tour explores the Red Fort. Continue with a visit to a workshop to learn about the intricate inlay work that was used to decorate the Taj Mahal. (B) Standard: Mansingh Palace Deluxe: Mughal Sheraton Day 4: Agra - Ranthambore The intricate beauty of the Taj Mahal is legendary. An early start allows you to see the Taj at sunrise, bathed in pinkish dawn light a sight never to be forgotten. Continue to Ranthambore by road and train, for a two-night stay, visiting the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri en route. you travel through the beautiful landscapes into the heart of the park in search of the elusive tiger. (BD) Days 6 & 7: Jaipur India's `Pink City' is where you will visit the City Palace and the Palace of Winds. Take some time to bargain for Rajasthani handicrafts in the local market, visit the imposing hilltop Amber Fort and the city's observatory, built by the great Maharaja Jai Singh. (B) Standard: Alsisar Haveli Deluxe: Rambagh Palace Day 8: Nimaj Today the tour continues further into rural India to the traditional Rajasthani country town of Nimaj. Dominating the town is the centuries-old white palace of Nimaj, now converted to a heritage hotel. There's time to to wander through the bazaar and to enjoy a delicious cooking demonstration from your historic home base. (BLD) Standard and Deluxe: Nimaj Palace Day 9: Osian This morning we head onto Osian to our stunning tented camp located on top of the highest sand dune in the Thar
Desert. In the afternoon there is the opportunity to explore the sandy surrounds on a camel safari. (BLD) Standard and Deluxe: Osian Camel Camp Day 10: Osian - Jodhpur The day begins with a morning jeep safari exploring the small villages found throughout the region before continuing by road to Jodhpur, one of Rajasthan's most famous and colourful cities. Here you will stay for two nights. (BL) Standard: Ajit Bhawan Deluxe: Umaid Bhawan Palace Day 11: Jodhpur Looking out from the ramparts of the imposing Meherangarh Fort offers the best views of India's `Blue City.' After exploring the fort time is spent looking for spices in the bazaar before participating in an Indian cookery class. (B) Day 12: Jodhpur - Udaipur South of Jodhpur is the large Jain temple complex at Ranakpur. After a tour here continue to Udaipur, an atmospheric city centred around the famous Lake Pichola, for a two-night stay. (B) Standard: Udai Kothi Deluxe: Taj Lake Palace Day 13: Udaipur A tour today takes you through the winding alleyways and vast City Palace of Udaipur. Later a cruise on stunning Lake Pichola is sure to be a highlight! (B) Day 14: Udaipur Your tour ends this morning with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
