Departures: Private daily tour An essential sightseeing trip for all visits to Siem Reap. Spend the day exploring the mystical Temples of Angkor representing 600 years of Khmer civilisation. Built in the 12th century the Angkor Wat took 30 years to build and is the largest and most sacred buildings in the world. Explore its many chambers and learn the stories behind the basrelief carvings. Also visit the fortified city of Angkor Thom with its 2,000 enormous carved faces and southern gate with 54 stone figures. Other temples visited include The Bayon with its beautifully crafted towers, Terrace of the Leper King, Elephant Terrace, Preah Khan and the atmospheric and jungle enveloped Ta Phrom. Departures: Daily Day 1: Arrive Siem Reap On arrival in Siem Reap transfer to your chosen hotel for a two night stay. Later this afternoon visit the walled city of Angkor Thom, representing 600 years (802-1432) of Khmer Civilisation. Marvel at the eerie stone heads of the Bayon temple, see the Terrace of Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King then continue to the most awe-inspiring of all temples, Angkor Wat. Board a tethered cable balloon for aerial views and to see the spectacular sunset.
