Departures: Most Sundays Day 1: Saigon You will be met on arrival and transferred to your chosen hotel for a three night stay. Standard: The Rex Hotel Deluxe: Sheraton Saigon Day 2: City Tour & Cu Chi Tunnels Begin your day with a tour of the city's famous and historic landmarks including the Re-Unification Palace, the War Remnants Museum, Rex Hotel, Notre Dame Cathedral, Thien Hau Pagoda and the chaotic Binh Tay market. This afternoon travel out of the city to explore the legendary Cu Chi tunnels, made infamous during the Vietnam War. (B) Day 3: Mekong Delta A full day tour to explore the fertile lands, orchards and waterways of the Mekong Delta. Enjoy a canal cruise and a boat trip to one of the river's islands to sample exotic fruits. (B) Day 4: Saigon Dalat Transfer to the airport for a short flight to the former French hill station of Dalat. Explore this city of local character and faded French elegance, once a favoured retreat for the colonial elite. (B) Standard: Novotel Dalat Deluxe: Ana Mandara Villas & Spa Dalat Day 5: Dalat Nha Trang After a stroll through Dalat's colourful market you will be driven through the spectacular scenery of the Ngoan Muc Pass to the coastal town of Nha Trang. A late afternoon arrival for a two night stay will give you time for a refreshing dip in the South China Sea. (B) Standard: Asia Paradise Hotel Deluxe: Ana Mandara Resort Nha Trang Day 6: Nha Trang Today enjoy a relaxing cruise through clear blue waters among the off shore islands with stops for snorkelling and swimming and a bountiful seafood lunch on board. Return mid afternoon where the rest of the day is free to explore perhaps visit the `Big Buddha' statue or take a cyclo tour around the town (not included). continue a short distance travelling south through the Marble Mountains and on to the famous China Beach. Move on to the ancient merchant town of Hoi An, a World Heritage Site, for a 2 night stay. Enjoy a walking tour of this delightful town including the Hoi An Museum, Assembly Hall and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Standard: Hoi An Trails Deluxe: Life Resort Day 8: Hoi An Today is free to explore the attractive city of Hoi An, with its colourful fish market hire a bicycle or relax on the beach. In the late afternoon enjoy a sunset riverboat cruise on the Thu Bon River. (B) Day 9: Hoi An - Hue Today travel to the former capital city, Hue, via the spectacular Hai Van Pass - one of the most dramatic drives in Vietnam. Visit the impressive tomb of the Emperor Tu Duc; continue on to the French influenced tomb of the 12th Emperor Khai Dinh. Arrive at your hotel this afternoon in Hue. (B) Day 10: Hue Today explore the designated World Heritage Site of Hué further. Visit the Citadel, the former home of the Nguyen Dynasty Emperors and the revered Thien Mu Pagoda, Hué's oldest and most beautiful religious monument. Board a boat to travel up the Perfume River and disembark at the Tomb of Ming Mang, perhaps the most majestic of Royal Tombs. Here you will have time to walk around the sight and enjoy a picnic lunch before retuning back to your hotel. (B)
Day 11: Hue - Hanoi This morning transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Hanoi. On arrival begin a city tour of one of Asia's most beautiful and engaging cities, including The Temple of Literature dating back to 1070 and the infamous 'Hanoi Hilton'. Finish with a cyclo tour of the fascinating Old Quarter where you can observe the daily bustle of life around the markets. (B) Standard: Sunway Hotel Deluxe: Sofitel Metropole Day 12: Hanoi Today learn more about the political history of Hanoi whilst walking along the beautiful tree-lined boulevards. Visit Ba Dinh Square, site of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and where Ho Chi Minh first declared independence from French rule. Also take time today to explore the Ho Chi Minh Quarter to visit his stilt house and the dedicated museum to his life. This afternoon visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, exhibiting information on the ethnic groups of this beautiful country and tonight watch Hanoi's famous Water Puppets. (B) Day 13: Halong Bay Early morning departure for the journey east to Halong Bay. Board a boat for a magical four hour cruise among the beautiful islands of Halong Bay and enjoy a seafood lunch on board. (BL) Day 14: Depart Hanoi Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
