Departures: Daily Day 1: Kuala Lumpur Cameron Highlands Depart Kuala Lumpur in the morning. Your journey to the Cameron Highlands, a mountain retreat and the centre of Malaysian tea production, takes you to an altitude of 1524m above sea level. Vegetables grow in profusion and flowers bloom everywhere in the cooler weather. Check into your hotel and enjoy a free afternoon, before dinner at Scottish Ye Old Smokehouse for an experience of the country's colonial era. (D) Superior: Lake House Resort Deluxe: Cameron Higlands Resort Day 2: Cameron Highlands Lumut Pangkor Today visit a tea plantation (closed on Mondays) and central market, before continuing on to the coastal town of Lumut. Off the west coast lie two islands: Pangkor, the main island, and the smaller Pangkor Laut (see page 60). These islands are blessed with lush rainforest interspersed with sweeping
bays and fine sandy beaches and the majority of the island's inhabitants are fisherfolk. From Lumut you will take a boat to these islands to rest and enjoy their beauty. (BL) Superior: Pangkor Island Beach Resort Deluxe: Pangkor Laut Resort Day 3: Pangkor Whole day at leisure Day 4: Pangkor Kuala Lumpur (or Penang) Depart Pangkor at noon on Berjaya Air for a 40-minute flight to Subang Airport in Kuala Lumpur (flights do not operate on Mon or Sat, road transfers can be organised as an alternative). From Subang you will be transferred to KL International Airport or your hotel where this tour ends. Alternatively, once back in Lumut you can travel northbound to Penang (approximately three hours) and be dropped off at any of our Penang hotels. Alternatively, this tour can also be operated in reverse. (B)

Departures: Daily Day 1: Kuala Lumpur Kuala Terengganu This tour begins at Kuala Lumpur airport where you will fly on Malaysia Airlines to Kuala Terengganu, on Malaysia's east coast. You will be met and transferred to the stunning Tanjong Jara Resort (see page 61) for a two night stay. Accommodation: Tanjong Jara Resort Day 2: At leisure Today spend your day at leisure. The Tanjong Jara Resort offers excursions to nearby Kapas Island or a Kampong tour, which you may be interested to join. Otherwise, relax and enjoy the beach and facilities of this wonderful resort. (B) Day 3: Kuantan A short panoramic drive along the coastal road will bring you into the state of Pahang. You will see Malay villages
built in traditional kampong style and have the opportunity to sample a traditional delicacy Lemang (glutinous rice cooked in bamboo with coconut milk). Your journey continues passed Chukai, known as the Texas of Malaysia due to the discovery of natural gas. After a stop for lunch continue on to Kuantan where you will be taken on a short tour of the town before checking into your hotel. (BL) Accommodation: Hyatt Regency Kuantan Day 4: Elephant Conservation Centre Kuala Lumpur Depart Kuantan for a drive through the countryside to the Elephant Conservation Centre at Kuala Gandah. Upon arrival you will meet the park authorities and given the opportunity to ride and bathe with the semi-wild elephants. Return to your Kuala Lumpur hotel in the late afternoon or drop off at KL International Airport. (BL)
