Thailand Touring Thailand's Central Highlights THAILAND 4 Days Bangkok to Bangkok. Escorted Group Journey. Tour BKKCHT The area around Bangkok is a wealth of culture and history. Experience the stunning scenery around the River Kwai and explore the past of Ayuthaya and its temples, the capital of Thailand until 1767. Kanchanaburi Ayuthaya Nakhon Pathon Bangkok Floating Markets Departures: Every Tuesday (minimum 2 persons) Day 1: Bangkok ­ Floating Markets ­ Rose Garden Depart from your Bangkok hotel this morning and travel to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. This area is made up of a large canal network and is a gathering place for traders who sell their wares from small hand rowed boats. Continue on to Nakhon Pathom and visit one of the largest stupas in the world, the Phra Pathom Chedi. Arrive at the Rose Garden Resort, relax and enjoy lunch and a cultural performance, the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the facilities. (L) Accommodation: Rose Garden Resort Day 2: Rose Garden ­ Kanchanaburi After breakfast drive to Kanchanaburi to view the Bridge over the River Kwai and board the local train and travel on the Death Railway. Arrive at the River Kwai Resotel by longtailed boat for your evening stay. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure with the opportunity to mountain bike, canoe or just relax. (B) Accommodation: River Kwai Resotel Day 3: Kanchanaburi ­ Ayuthaya This morning is spent visiting the Burma-Thailand Railway Museum, a chance to learn more about the history of the Death Railway. After this there is a chance to contemplate at the war cemetery before continuing on to the capital of Siam, Ayuthaya. The city lies along the Chao Phraya River and is know as the "Venice of the East", here view the remains of the Ayuthaya Empire in temples such as Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, Wat Chai Wattanaram and Wat Yai Chai Mongkol with its white reclining Buddha. (B) Accommodation: Krungsri River Hotel Day 4: Bang Pa In ­ Bangkok This morning you may rise early and visit the local town to offer alms to the monks. After breakfast take a 40-minute boat trip on the fascinating Chao Phraya River to Bang Pa In followed by a visit to the Royal Summer Palace. Transfer back to your Bangkok hotel at noon. Drive to the mountain temple of Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai's most famous landmark, then on to the Hill Tribe Museum to learn about the different cultures that live in Thailand. Journey on to the Lisu Lodge for lunch, with a short stop enroute at an Orchid Farm. This afternoon set off on foot for a stroll through the local village, visiting Ton Lung Temple with its fragrant herb garden and the Cultural Centre to learn about the local people. This afternoon drive to Doi Mae Salong and meet the Akha, Chinese Kuomintang and Yao hill tribe villages. Continue on to your chosen Golden Triangle resort where you will spend the rest of the day at leisure. For lunch visit a local restaurant at the border town of Mae Sai before exploring your final sightseeing stops at the Doi Tung Royal Project and Mae Fah Luang Garden.
