The charming Finch Bay Hotel is located on a secluded beach on the island of Santa Cruz. Spend five action-packed days exploring this enchanted paradise or simply enjoy a few days relaxing after your Galapagos cruise. At the Finch Bay Hotel you can enjoy a wide range of activities both on land or at sea, including sea kayaking, mountain bike riding, trekking, bird watching, swimming at the pool or the beach, snorkelling, scuba diving, horseback riding in the Santa Cruz highlands, visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station, stargazing or simply relaxing to your heart's content. The hotel is designed to take full advantage of the natural surroundings. All 21 rooms have recently been tastefully renovated; bathrooms are large and have spacious showers and all rooms have air conditioning and a private balcony. Additional facilities include a restaurant, bar, lounge, large attractive swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, sun deck, laundry service and internet access.
Finch Bay Hotel
The following itinerary is based on Wednesday arrivals. You may however arrive at the Finch Bay Hotel on any day of the week. Please note touring will vary depending on your actual day of arrival. Day 1: Arrive Galapagos Giant Tortoises Reserve On arrival at Baltra Island you will transfer to the highlands of Santa Cruz Island to visit the Giant Tortoises Reserve and observe tortoises in their natural habitat. Brief stop at the Twin Pit Craters en route to the Finch Bay Hotel where the friendly staff will greet you with a cool refreshing beverage. In the afternoon, enjoy a nap in your hammock or take a dip in the swimming pool. (LD) Day 2: Santa Fe Island Travel by boat to the beautiful sandy bay on Santa Fe Island, which is often strewn with California sea lions a perfect opportunity to take photographs. Your guide will walk with you through the opuntia cactus forest where you may be lucky enough to spot endemic iguanas and rice rats. The bay at Santa Fe is an ideal area to snorkel with the sea lions, turtles and a variety of colourful fish. This afternoon, return to the hotel and relax in the jacuzzi or, if you have the energy, why not explore the nearby shores by kayak? (BLD)
Day 3: Plaza Island Today, travel to Plaza Island where the shoreline has one of the densest populations of sea lions in the Galapagos. Take an easy walk along the trail to look for land iguanas, swallow-tailed gulls and brown noddies and enjoy the beautiful view from atop the cliffs. The Opuntia cacti grow here too and the vegetation changes colour according to the season of the year. (BLD) Day 4: Bartolomé Island This morning you will discover the scenic Bartolomé Island. The hike to the top is fairly steep along well maintained wooden steps, however the views from the top are spectacular and worth every little bit of effort. Sea lions and penguins can be observed swimming in the vicinity off Pinnacle Rock. (BLD) Day 5: Depart the Galapagos Leave the hotel early in the morning for a visit to Charles Darwin Research Station, home to famous "Lonesome George" and many other giant tortoises. Afterwards you will be transferred to Baltra airport for your flight back to the mainland. (B)

6, 7 & 10 Days Quito & Galapagos Voyage
Cruise the Galapagos in comfort aboard one of the Gap Adventurer motor yachts each complete with all necessary comforts, including outside decks for relaxing, a dining room and a bar. Cabins with either a window or a porthole include WC, shower, hot water and air conditioning, and all meals are provided. As with all GAP yachts, a staff of 7 includes a bilingual Level III naturalist, ensuring you are in good hands both onboard and on land. Departures: Various (shown below is a typical 7 day itinerary). Day 1: Arrive Quito You may arrive in Quito at any time. There are no planned activities today, your day is at leisure to enjoy the city. Overnight: Rio Amazonas Hotel Day 2: Quito Baltra Early transfer to Quito airport for your flight (included) to the Galapagos Islands to join your motor yacht. There will be time to explore the charming fishing port of Puerto Ayora before boarding and a chance to see giant tortoises at the Charles Darwin Station. (LD) Day 3: Floreana Set sail to Floreana and stop at Post Office Bay. Even today visitors may drop off and pick up letters, without stamps. (BLD) Day 4: Española Today sail to Española Island, the southernmost island in the Galapagos and home to masked and blue-footed boobies. (BLD) Day 5: Santa Fé One of the most picturesque anchorages. Today learn how mangroves survive in its harsh enviroment, and study the features of pre-historic looking marine iguanas. (BLD) Day 6: Santa Cruz - Quito A brief visit to North Seymour for one last look at frigate birds, blue-boobies and sea lions before transferring to the airport for your return flight (included) to Quito. Enjoy an evening in Quito. (B) Overnight : Rio Amazonas Hotel Day 7: Depart Quito Transfer (not included) to the airport for your onward journey or extend your stay in Quito.
