Here, 35 rivers with over two hundred rapids finally join to form one of nature's most surprising spectacles. Numerous rainbows crown the falls and at ground level the exuberant forest, a wide variety of flowers, exotic birds and butterflies enhance the beauty of this amazing natural wonder. After your tour you will be transferred back to your hotel. (B) Day 7: Iguassú Rio de Janeiro After a leisurely breakfast, wander out on to the viewing platforms to take a last glimpse of the falls and beautiful surroundings. Or why not take a ten-minute helicopter ride? The view from the air is truly spectacular and should not be missed (not included in the price, see page 28 for full details). Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight (not included) to Rio de Janeiro. On arrival in Rio you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel for a fournight stay. Enjoy the evening at leisure and relax. (B) Standard: Luxor Continental (Standard Room) Superior: Luxor Regente (Superior Room) Deluxe: Sofitel Rio de Janeiro (Superior Room) Day 8: Corcovado & Sugar Loaf Mountain Rio cries out to be explored and some of the most staggering views are from its tropical mountain tops. Travel by train through the dense and lush Tijuca forest to reach the top of Corcovado crowned by the legendary Statue of Christ. From here you will discover why Rio is commonly referred to as the most beautiful city in the world. After a delicious lunch, travel to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car and marvel at the sight of this wonderful city, with its countless bays and curvaceous coastline. (BL) Day 9: Day at Leisure & Rio by Night Today is yours to do as you wish. Rio is famous for its golden beaches, why not enjoy the cool sea breezes and bask in the sun? Perhaps you may like to wander around old Rio, the place where it all began, or discover great shopping in Ipanema. After dark Rio comes alive. This evening you will be collected from your hotel to enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner. Afterwards, watch a Samba show with elaborately costumed dancers and singers presenting Brazil's folklore and capturing the rhythms of Carnival. (BD) Day 10: Full Day at Leisure Time for some last-minute shopping or to take a morning stroll along Copacabana Beach. For a lasting memory of Rio, enjoy a fabulous helicopter trip and discover 'The Most Beautiful City in the World' from above (not included in the price, see page 24 for full details). (B) Day 11: Depart Rio de Janeiro Your transfer awaits, to take you back to the airport for your homeward/onward flight. (B)
