Day 1: Arrive Lima On arrival at Lima Airport you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel for a two-night stay in this historical city. Standard: Casa Andina Lima Superior: Doubletree El Pardo Hotel Deluxe: Miraflores Park Hotel (Ocean View Room) Day 2: Colonial & Modern Lima Today, enjoy a fabulous three-hour sightseeing tour, which offers the best of colonial and modern Lima, plus a visit to the pre-Inca pyramid Huaca Huallamarca. (B) Day 3: Lima ­ Cuzco After breakfast, transfer to Lima Airport for your flight (not included) to Cuzco. Here you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to allow you to get acclimatised and explore the capital of the Inca Empire. (B) Standard: Casa Andina Cuzco Superior: Jose Antonio Deluxe: Monasterio Cuzco (Deluxe Room) Day 4: Cuzco - The Sacred Valley This morning you will be met and driven into the beautiful Sacred Valley. The first stop will be at the Indian market in Pisac to see a fantastic blend of colour, tradition and local people. After lunch, continue to Ollantaytambo, an ancient fortress and village with narrow streets complete with canals unchanged since Inca times. (BL) All categories: Sol & Luna Day 5: Machu Picchu This morning take a stunning scenic train journey to the village of Aguas Calientes, from where it is just a 30-minute bus drive to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The views and ruins are astonishing and your guide will bring this `Lost City' to life. Ideally stay overnight at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, a peaceful haven on the mountain top just seconds away from the actual ruins. Alternatively, stay at the Hatuchay or Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel in Aguas Calientes and enjoy the vibrant village atmosphere. (BLD) Standard: Hatuchay Hotel Superior: Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel Deluxe: Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge Day 6: Machu Picchu ­ Cuzco This morning is at leisure. You may want to return to the ruins for sunrise or browse through the markets of Aguas Calientes. Later in the afternoon, return to Cuzco by train, arriving early evening. (B) Standard: Casa Andina Superior: Jose Antonio Deluxe: Monasterio Cuzco (Deluxe Room) Day 7: Cuzco ­ Guayaquil Transfer to the airport for your flight (not included) over the Andes via Lima to Guayaquil. The rest of the day is at leisure, you may want to visit Las Peñas, where you will find brightly coloured houses and many family-run restaurants, gift shops, bars and galleries. Day 9-11: Galapagos Cruise These next few days will be spent experiencing one of the world's greatest wildlife locations and exploring the fascinating islands of Bartolome, Santiago, Santa Cruz and North Seymour, to name just a few. There is nowhere else in the world where you can see blue-footed boobies, flightless cormorants, Galapagos penguins, marine iguanas, frigate birds, the giant Galapagos tortoise and much more at such close quarters. Your expert naturalist guide is always on hand to answer all your questions, and there will be plenty of opportunities to take photographs, walk along the dramatic nature trails, swim and snorkel with the sea lions.
