4 Day El Calafate Glacier Adventure
Perito Moreno Glacier
Departures: Daily Day 1: Arrive El Calafate On arrival at El Calafate airport you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel for a three-night stay. The remainder of the day is at leisure in this picturesque lakeside town. Standard: Sierra Nevada Hotel Superior: Hotel Posada los Alamos Day 2: Perito Moreno Glacier This morning begin a full-day tour to the World Heritage Site of Perito Moreno Glacier. Among the 356 glaciers within the Glaciares National Park, this is the most outstanding! After a beautiful 80km drive through magnificent mountainous scenery, you reach the spectacular glacier, which covers more than four square kilometres of the waters of Lake Argentino. Embark on an optional hike over its surface, using crampons and accompanied by an experienced guide (not included).
After a box lunch, return by boat across the bay to the viewing points in front of the glacier, where you can observe the continuous process of ice calving, and hear the thundering of huge blocks of ice breaking away from the face, before your transfer back to El Calafate. (BL) Day 3: Upsala Glacier & Lake Onelli Today, enjoy a full-day tour on and around Lago Argentino. Leaving from Punta Bandera Port you will sail north among amazing blue icebergs and spectacular mountain ranges until you reach the stunning Upsala glacier, an area of 955 square kilometres. Later, continue to Onelli Bay, passing surrounding beech forests until you arrive at Lake Onelli, whose surface is dotted with icebergs of many different shapes and sizes. (B) Day 4: Depart El Calafate Today you will be transferred from your hotel to El Calafate Airport for your onward flight. (B)

Departures: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat Day 1: Arrive Ushuaia On arrival in the frontier city of Ushuaia you will be transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay. Ushuaia is known as the 'City at the End of the World', and travellers making it this far south will be following in the footsteps of Magellan, Darwin and other great explorers. Despite its isolated location, the city is lively both day and night, and the evening is free to explore its numerous bars and restaurants. Standard: Hotel Albatros Superior: Los Cauquenes (Mountain View) Day 2: Tierra del Fuego & Beagle Channel This morning, enjoy a half-day visit to Lapataia in the stark yet beautiful Tierra del Fuego National Park. The park contains many rivers, lakes and peat bogs, and the rich
green vegetation acts as a backdrop to the ghost-like trunks of trees which were damaged by ancient fires. In the afternoon, you will take a half-day catamaran cruise on the Beagle Channel from Ushuaia. The two-and-a-half-hour cruise allows tremendous close-up views of the rugged coastline, the cliffs and the permanently snow-capped mountains which give a hint of the vast white lands of the Antarctic which lie to the south. The islands in the channel are home to large colonies of cormorants, albatross, ducks and sea lions, and highlights of the cruise include the remote Les Eclaireurs lighthouse and a small colony of Magellanic penguins. (B) Day 3: Depart Ushuaia Today you will be transferred from your hotel to Ushuaia Airport for your onward flight. (B)
