Estancias of Argentina
Experience an ambiance of nature, history and tradition by choosing to stay at one of the beautiful, privately-owned Argentine estancias. Many of the large rural estates devoted to cattle ranching have opened their doors to visitors who come in search of relaxation, or adventure. From horseback riding to wine tasting, and from birdwatching to playing polo, the activities on offer are endless.
3 Day Buenos Aires Ranch Experience
Departures: Daily Day 1: Buenos Aires San Antonio de Areco Today you will be met at Buenos Aires domestic airport or your downtown hotel for a 90 minute transfer to the small town of San Antonio de Areco for the start of your ranch stay. Your home for the next 2 nights will be El Ombú de Areco, a delightful late-colonial style estancia dating back to 1880. The estancia specialises in cattle breeding, and is very much a working ranch. (LD) Overnight: El Ombú de Areco Day 2: Estancia El Ombú de Areco You will have a day at leisure to enjoy the facilities and activities on offer. Explore the estancia's 300 hectares on foot, by horse-drawn carriage or on horseback with the seasoned gauchos, and there are ample opportunities to observe or take part in the various stock breeding activities. You can also go bird watching or simply relax by the estancia's pool. Alternatively, take time to visit the picturesque town of San Antonio, with its old church, handicraft shops and museums. One of the highlights of your stay will be the magnificent food, prepared either in the estancia's kitchens or on an outdoor barbecue, served with fine local wines. (BLD) Day 3: Estancia - Buenos Aires Today, your transfer will be waiting to take you back to your Buenos Aires hotel or the domestic airport. (B)

4 Day Córdoba Estancia Experience
Departures: Daily Day 1: Arrive Córdoba You will be met on arrival at Córdoba airport and transferred to Estancia Los Potreros, a working cattle farm nestled in the hills between the pampas and the Andes in Argentina's centre west. Los Potreros specialises in breeding fine Peruvian Paso horses, which are used not only for the distance rides for guests in the surrounding area but also in the day-to-day running of the cattle ranch. (LD) Overnight: Estancia Los Potreros Days 2-3: Estancia Los Potreros You will have two full days at the estancia to explore the region. One of the best ways to do this is on horseback half- or full-day rides are offered, as well as `country polo' lessons which give guests the chance to learn this noble sport while enjoying a ride through the hills but trekking is another great way of appreciating the beautiful scenery. Other activities for guests include bird-watching, wine tasting and painting, and guests can relax by the lovely outdoor pool. As with most Argentinean ranches, Los Potreros places a great deal of emphasis on food, and evening meals are a feast of fine meats, fresh local produce and excellent regional wines. (BLD) Day 4: Depart Córdoba After breakfast today you will be transferred to Córdoba airport for your onward flight. (B)
