Departures - Regular Tour: Mon, Wed and Sat Departures - Private Tour: Daily Day 1: Arrive Cuzco On arrival in Cuzco, you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to allow you to acclimatise and explore what was once the capital of the Inca Empire. The Inca stonework and Spanish grandeur will amaze you, but at 3,400m, we recommend you take it easy. Tonight sample traditional Peruvian cuisine at one of the many open-air restaurants which overlook the bustling Plaza de Armas. Standard: Casa Andina Cuzco Plaza Superior: Novotel Cuzco Deluxe: Monasterio (Deluxe Room) Day 2: Cuzco - The Sacred Valley On a clear morning, early risers will witness the stunning snow-capped peaks surrounding Cuzco. After breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven into the beautiful Sacred Valley. The first stop will be made at the Pisac Indian market to see a fantastic blend of colour, tradition and local people. After lunch, continue to Ollantaytambo, an ancient fortress and village with narrow streets complete with canals unchanged since Inca times. This evening, you will stay at the charming Pakaritampu Hotel where you can enjoy the fresh air of the valley and the spectacular landscape. (BL) Overnight: Pakaritampu Hotel, The Sacred Valley
Cuzco
Day 3: The Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu This morning, you will be transferred to Ollantaytambo Station where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. The train travels alongside the Urubamba River passing along lush green fields and villages. On arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes you will travel by bus to reach the entrance of Machu Picchu. The views and ruins are astonishing and your guide will bring this 'Lost City' to life. Later you will have time to explore the ruins by yourself. Depending on your choice of accommodation you may spend the evening at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, a peaceful haven close to the actual ruins. Alternatively, stay in Aguas Calientes and enjoy the vibrant village atmosphere. (BLD)

You may want to return to the ruins or browse the markets of Aguas Calientes. Return to Cuzco by train, arriving late in the evening.
