Lima
Peru's capital, Lima, is referred to as the City of Kings, and its illustrious past is reflected in buildings of the historical centre where you'll find many impressive examples of grand colonial architecture, including a striking cathedral, mansions, churches and grand plazas. The verdant `garden districts' of Miraflores and San Isidro are upmarket residential areas south of the centre which offer excellent shopping, art galleries, bars and restaurants, as well as many hotels and easy access to the Pacific Ocean. With these stylish and historical areas, and the ruined pre-Inca pyramids and temples to the south of the city, Lima encapsulates the mix of traditional and modern-day cultures which exists throughout Peru.

Day 1: Arrive Lima On arrival at Lima Airport you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel for your two-night stay. Standard: Casa Andina Lima Superior: Doubletree El Pardo Hotel Deluxe: Miraflores Park Hotel (Ocean View) Day 2: Lima Sightseeing Enjoy a fabulous three and a half hour sightseeing tour covering the best of Colonial and Modern Lima. Visit the Government Palace, the Plaza Mayor with its impressive bronze fountain, the Cathedral and the beautiful 17th century San Francisco Monastery and its famous catacombs. Continue to the pre-Inca pyramid Huaca Huallamarca where you will have the chance to explore the on-site museum (closed Mondays) before continuing to the suburb of Miraflores which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The rest of the day is yours to explore. Day 3: Depart Lima After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the airport in Lima for your onward flight connections.
