We have long specialised in arranging tailor-made travel plans for our customers, but with all of Latin America available to you, the range of destinations and holiday options can seem overwhelming. On this page, and the one opposite, we have put together some suggested itineraries to help you plan your ideal holiday, whether you're a first-time visitor wanting to see the key sights or a seasoned traveller looking for the road less trodden.

Days 1-4: Santiago de Chile If you are looking to combine a fantastic city break with something more adventurous, then this is the ideal holiday for you. This 9-day tour takes in our interesting `Essential Santiago' package before experiencing the natural beauty of Northern Patagonia. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of cosmopolitan Santiago, and a visit to one of the nearby vineyards to learn about wine production and sample some of the delicious Chilean wines (see page 61). Days 4-6: Crossing of the Lakes Board the plane for a flight to Puerto Montt and then by road to Puerto Varas on the shores of Lake Llanquihue. Enjoy the stunning views across the lake and onto the Osorno Volcano before you leave the next morning for an adventurous trip across the lakes into Argentina. Outstanding scenery awaits your journey which leads through forests, lakes, and includes an overnight stay at the tiny village of Peulla, where you will have time to walk, canoe or go horse-riding in the idyllic surroundings. The next day, continue to Bariloche in Argentina (see page 67).

Days 6-9: Bariloche's Lakes, Fjords & Mountains Surrounded by lush temperate rainforest, lakes and snowcapped peaks, Bariloche enjoys a paradisiacal location in the Argentine lake district. Experience the small circuit sightseeing tour, taking in the area's highlights Lake Nahuel Huapi, Cerro Campanario, Lake Moreno and Mount Lopéz to name but a few. The area is also well known for its exciting and adventurous outdoor activities and we highly recommend a tour around the famous Seven Lakes (see page 76). We suggest to add a few nights in the elegant and cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires after your tour. (see page 71).

Days 1-5: The Maya Route This 8-day itinerary is designed for you to enjoy the best of the Yucatán - impressive Mayan sites, white-sand beaches and a crystal-clear ocean. This tour ideally fits a week's holiday, but can be extended as you wish. Both educational and exciting, your `Essential Yucatan' tour includes a visit to the awe-inspiring Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá, one of the `New 7 Wonders of the World', the amazing `Puuc Route', comprising the ruins of Sayil, Labna, Kabah and Uzmal, as well as the `Chen Route' including Xpujil and Calakmul, the largest of the Mayan cities. The final stop will be Tulum, the site of the famous Maya-Toltec ruins, scenically perched on cliffs overlooking the turquoise sea (see page 83). Days 5-8: Caribbean Getaway After the tour, we suggest a relaxing, well-deserved break at one of the fantastic Caribbean beaches along the Riviera Maya. Cancun is the place to be if you want beautiful beaches as well as great restaurants and bars, a diverse nightlife and fantastic shopping. If you prefer to stay away

from the crowds, there are smaller beach resorts along the coast. Why not stay in Tulum after your visit to the ruins and enjoy the calm, white-sand beaches surrounded by tropical forest (see page 83). Wherever you head to, the Caribbean coastline of the Yucatán is a paradise for beach and nature lovers!
