First opened in 1958, Tropical das Cataratas is the only hotel located within the boundaries of Iguassú National Park on the Brazilian side and is just a few metres away from the magnificent falls. Surrounded by lush subtropical rainforest, the hotel stands grand with its classic colonial architecture, tiled roof and pale pink walls. As well as the beautiful woodwork and elegant lounges within the hotel, there are also fantastic leisure facilities, including an impressive free-form pool, tennis courts and a games room with table tennis and billiards. Guests can enjoy a selection of international and regional cuisine in the Itaipu Restaurant, or sample traditional Brazilian barbecued fare at the poolside Ipé Bar and Grill, while the terrace of the Taroba Bar is a great place to relax with a drink and watch the many species of birds which inhabit the hotel's pleasant gardens. Set in pristine Argentine Adventure rainforest, 42km from the mighty Iguazú Falls, the Yacutinga Lodge is a perfect place to spend a couple of nights after a visit to the falls. 20 rustic yet comfortable rooms are located in small, independent buildings built in harmony with its natural surroundings.
