WELCOME TO NEW ZEALAND
North Island
Stunning North Island is bursting with attractions, often literally don't miss the spouting geysers, mud pools and hot springs of Rotorua. Elsewhere, you can enjoy miles of secluded beaches in the Bay of Islands, dramatic mountain ranges and dense forest in the Coromandel region, and boutique wineries in Hawke's Bay. For urbanites, New Zealand's international gateway, Auckland, is a lively, cosmopolitan city affectionately known as the `City of Sails'. Wellington, the capital, is a great place to savour pleasant architecture and relax in street cafés.
South Island
Mother Nature really has surpassed herself in the creation of this beautiful island. In the far north, Nelson boasts powdery beaches and turquoise waters, while in the east, Kaikoura has some of the finest whale watching in the world. In the south, towering mountain ranges bisect vast lakes and immense forests, and in the west the magnificent Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers tumble towards a rugged coastline. If the immensity of nature all becomes too much, you can head to quaint Christchurch, or enjoy a little adrenaline-fuelled fun in Queenstown.
South Pacific Islands
The islands of the South Pacific are some of the most beautiful places you could ever wish to tread. With the coral-filled, crystalline waters of the exotic Cook Islands, the unparalleled luxury of Tahiti and the islands of French Polynesia, as well as the many options available on Fiji's 322 islands, the area is the perfect Robinson Crusoe escape.
Worldwide Stopovers
With typical flight times to New Zealand exceeding 24 hours, it makes sense to stopover en route and enjoy the sights of another country. You could spend a day in the souks of Dubai, a couple of nights in the bright lights of Hong Kong, a week living it up in Los Angeles, or a month on the beaches of Thailand the choice is entirely yours.
