Auckland - Queenstown 35 Hour Flexi-Pass InterCity Flexi-Pass
What is Flexi-Pass? Flexi-Pass is New Zealand's most flexible transport pass and works just like a pre-paid phone card. You can travel almost anywhere on the InterCity network. There's no hassle about managing travel days or sectors, you simply buy the number of hours you need from 15 to 60 hours and off you go! More Freedom Flexi-Pass is sold in blocks of time which allows travel on regular InterCity coach journeys or on any Newmans* sightseeing journeys or a mixture of both. You may travel in any direction and the pass is valid for 12 months. Travel plans can be changed up to 2 hours prior to departure without penalties. The more hours you buy the better value it works out. If you need more hours then simply top-up your pass in the same way as a pre-paid phone card, it's as simple as that. You can also use your pass to experience the Kings Dolphin Watching Cruise in the Bay of Islands and the Interislander ferry. To further illustrate the ease of travelling see the adjacent column for our suggested itinerary based on a 35 hour pass. 20 hours = £79 35 hours = £131 60 hours = £232 * Please note: coach travel only, any entrance fees or meals along the way at own expense. Hours 1-11 Auckland - Palmerston North Travel south from Auckland towards Rotorua, famed for its geothermal activities and Maori culture. Maybe stop off en route at Hamilton, New Zealand's largest inland city or travel further until you reach Cambridge, a small town with a distinctly English feel. Journey further to the magnificent Lake Taupo and maybe continue through to the vibrant university city of Palmerston North. Hours 12-18 Palmerston North - Picton Finish your journey of the North Island in Wellington. Take the time to explore this chic city and visit Te Papa the national museum. Cross stunning Cook Straight on the Interislander Ferry (included). Hours 19-30 Picton - Mount Cook Picton doubles as the marine gateway to the South Island and the start point to explore the Marlborough region. Travel down from here along the coast and through to Kaikoura; take a boat trip (own expense) when more often than not you will see whales or dolphins. Enjoy the picturesque Christchurch and journey onto the World Heritage Area of Mount Cook National Park to view the awesome heights of Australasia's tallest peak. Hours 31-35 Mount Cook - Queenstown Travel through the country past the sleepy town of Twizel and down to Queenstown, the self styled adventure capital. Known for being fast paced with possibly every high adrenaline activity on offer, Queenstown also offers a laid back peaceful atmosphere where you can gently take in the beauty of Lake Wakatipu just as much as you can be throwing yourself off various high platforms!
