Hawke's Bay A Hawke's Bay day is like no other. Whether it's a lazy summer alfresco lunch, a long walk on a beach in the golden light of autumn or the astonishing view from the top of Te Mata Peak on a crisp spring morning, you will want to stay a while. The main town of Napier is an Art Deco lover's paradise and the perefct place to base yourself for discovering the region. With wonderful scenery, fantastic food and wine a visit to Hawke's Bay is hard to beat. Cape Kidnappers Safari Tour GANSAF 4 hrs This morning's guided tour in a comfortable 4WD vehicle takes you over the hill country to the rugged coastline of Cape Kidnappers Station. Cape Kidnappers is home to the largest and most accessible mainland gannet colony in the world and you'll be able to see these amazing birds close up and watch them nesting, preening, flying (remember your hat!) and performing the famous recognition ritual known as `Dance of Gannets'. The gannets at the cape are members of the Booby family, with distinctive black eye markings and a pale gold crown. You'll be amazed by these birds with their six-foot (two-metre) wingspan. At the brink of the cliff you'll have the opportunity to take in the fantastic views of Hawke's Bay out to Mahia Peninsula. Prices £21 per person.
