Day 1: Arrive Rotorua If you arrive into Rotorua Airport, you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel by shuttle. If arriving by car, make your own way to your chosen hotel for a twonight stay. Settle into the hotel and relax or begin exploring the town and its bars, cafés and restaurants. Standard: Princes Gate Hotel Superior: Millennium Rotorua Deluxe: Peppers on the Point Day 2: Rotorua Sightseeing & Maori Hangi This morning your tour includes a combination of three of Rotorua's attractions, each one piecing together the story of the eruption of Mount Tarawera. Your first stop is the Rotorua Museum, followed by a guided tour of the `Buried Village' of Te Wairoa. Both the museum and the excavated village combine the natural beauty and wildlife of the region, making a walk through the `Buried Village' a unique experience. Your final stop is the famous Te Puia Thermal Reserve, where you can view mighty geysers and boiling mud pools; you may even be lucky enough to catch the famous Lady Knox geyser in action. Tonight, enjoy authentic, cultural entertainment and feast on fabulous foods cooked the traditional Maori way, on hot stones in an earth oven, known as a Hangi. Day 3: Depart Rotorua Enjoy a leisurely morning or squeeze in some last minute sightseeing. If you are continuing your onward journey by flight, shuttle transfers will take you to Rotorua Airport.

Mount Tarawera Eco Tour
Tour HD - 4.5hrs This journey takes you through picturesque rural farmland and past the Kaingaroa forest, the largest man made forest in the southern hemisphere. Reaching the base of the mountain your 4WD vehicle will drive approximately 20 minutes through New Zealand native S bush to the edge of the massive main crater of the dormant mountain Mt Tarewera. Your expert mountain guide will choose one of three walking options. The different options include a summit hike, scree slide into the crater or a leisurely stroll along the craters edge. Enjoy specatcular views and learn about Maori Legend, history and volcanology of this unique Volcano. Helicopter White Island
Tour HPR 3 hrs Situated 52km offshore, White Island is an active island volcano which constantly emits a cloud of steam and periodically erupts, expelling ash several thousand miles into the air. The full Maori name for the island is `Te Puia o Whakaari' meaning literally `the dramatic volcano'. It was named `White Island' by Captain Cook on October 1, 1769 because it always appeared to be in a cloud of white steam. The island is roughly circular and about 2km in diameter. From Rotorua enjoy a scenic flight north over Hell's Gate Thermal Valley to the Pacific Ocean coastline and the island. Land at the crater's rim and for an hour explore and experience the fury of the main crater. Strangely, the island is also home to abundant birdlife and often whales and dolphins are seen in the surrounding waters. Eco Thermal Tour
