At the quiet northern end of Abel Tasman National Park, Awaroa Lodge is open year-round, enjoying a unique natural bush setting just a short walk from Awaroa Bay. This is the perfect starting point from which to explore the famous Abel Tasman Coastal Track the most beautiful of all New Zealand's `Great Walks' where vast coastal inlets and secluded bays of golden sands and turquoise waters await. Land transfers from Nelson to Marahau & water-taxi from Marahau to Awaroa Lodge must be booked. There is no road access to the lodge. You may walk or kayak into the lodge, details on request. · Scenic helicopter transfers are also available on request. Experience an unforgettable three days in a natural bush setting at the quiet northern end of the Abel Tasman National Park. With no road access into Awaroa Lodge getting there is half the fun! You will be transferred by scheduled coach from Nelson to Marahau, taking approximately one hour. From there, board the Aqua Taxi at Marahau for the scenic 1.5hour trip to the lodge (two departures daily at 9.00am and 1.30pm). On arrival check into your room and relax in the beautiful surroundings. In the morning enjoy a relaxing walk on one of the many beautiful trails on the property. In the afternoon enjoy a leisurely four-hour kayaking trip through the Tonga Marine Reserve or explore the expansive Awaroa Bay (snorkelling optional) with morning or afternoon tea included. The return Aqua Taxi from Awaroa to Marahau departs daily at 10.30am and 3.00pm from where a connecting coach will return you to Nelson. A 20-minute scenic helicopter transfer from Nelson is available on request. Price per person, from £272 (twin share) incl. 2 nights accommodation, return coach & water-taxi transfers from Nelson, a 4-hour kayaking trip including morning & afternoon tea.

Tour CR5 - 5.5 hrs This is a wonderful half day scenic cruise from Abel Tasman which shows you the highlights of the area. Cruise close into protected southern bays and view the fur seal colony on Tonga Island. Travel onward and you will notice that the scenery changes; Onetahuti marks the beginning of the northern beaches with large sweeps of golden sand separated by picturesque bush headlands.
